Out of favour Jack Grealish is open to leaving Manchester City this summer and keen on a move to Carabao Cup winners Newcastle United.

Jack Grealish transfer news: City winger keen on Newcastle move

Grealish has made just six Premier League starts this season and fallen out of Pep Guardiola‘s rotation despite City enduring their worst period in years.

Chronicle Live are reporting the 29-year-old is tempted by a switch to recent Carabao Cup victors Newcastle, who are looking for increased depth on the wings following Miguel Almiron’s January departure.

Grealish believes Magpies boss Eddie Howe could be the perfect coach to get a tune out of him as he bids to break back into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad ahead of the World Cup next year.

City spent £100 million securing Grealish’s services from Aston Villa four years ago and it’s expected he’ll be available for a fraction of that price as the Manchester giants look to rebuild in the summer.

John Terry, his former Villa teammate and coach, expressed the opinion Grealish needs to look for a move away from the Etihad in the best interests of his international career.

Grealish has found life difficult at City in recent months with stiff competition from the likes of Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden and Savinho on the wings – not to mention new g Omar Marmoush.

In 26 appearances for the club this season, the treble winner has scored two and ed five assists in 1,319 minutes.

Even if Grealish returns to form at Newcastle, he’ll still face a tough battle for a regular England place with Foden, Anthony Gordon, Jarrod Bowen and Marcus Rashford ahead in the pecking order.
