Here’s our Inter Milan Vs Arsenal preview, prediction, team news and confirmed lineups ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash at the San Siro.

Inter Milan Vs Arsenal Preview

Martin Odegaard forced to watch on from the sidelines.

The injured Norwegian has seen his side slip to fifth in the Premier League table following defeats at Bournemouth and Newcastle.

Mikel Arteta’s men have not won in the league since beating strugglers Southampton 3-1 a month ago.

In Europe, things look a little brighter. Wins over PSG and Shakhtar Donetsk followed a goalless draw away to Atalanta.

With the Gunners unbeaten and chasing an automatic qualification spot for the knockouts, another three points in Milan would do them very nicely.

But Inter will pose a massive challenge to any side who visits the San Siro.

They too have won twice and drawn one from their opening three Champions League fixtures. Wins against BSC Young Boys and Red Star Belgrade followed a draw at Manchester City in September.

In Serie A, Inter have won seven from their first 11, and sit second in the table, one point below leaders Napoli.

The two sides have only met twice before, winning one each during the Champions League group stages in 2003/04.

Inter Milan Vs Arsenal Team News

Gunners captain Odegaard was reportedly close to a return for the weekend’s defeat at Newcastle. While not ready on the occasion, there is hope in the Arsenal camp that they might see him back in the squad on Wednesday night.

Defensively, Arsenal will be without  Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), Kieran Tierney (hamstring) and Riccardo Calafiori (knee), but both Gabriel and Ben White are available.

Inter’s only confirmed injury concern is Brazilian left-back Carlos Augusto. His hamstring problem will most likely see him out until after the international break.

Defender Alessandro Bastoni was taken off in some discomfort at the weekend, but reports have suggested he was only suffering with cramp.

Former Arsenal man Henrikh Mkhitaryan should boss things in midfield, while Hakan Calhanoglu is expected to slot back in for Piotr Zielinski

Inter Milan Vs Arsenal Confirmed Lineups

Inter Milan Lineup:

Sommer; Pavard, De Vrij, Bisseck; Dumfries, Frattesi, Zielinski, Calhanoglu, Darmian; Taremi, Martinez

Arsenal Lineup:

Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Merino, Partey, Havertz; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli

Inter Milan Vs Arsenal Prediction

While Odegaard may feature, it’s unlikely he’ll start for Arsenal. With their recent struggles and a number of defenders missing, we think Inter will be a match for them at home.

Both sides have attacking threat, so we think there will be goals in this one. For that reason, a score draw is the result we’re going with.

Prediction: Inter Milan 2-2 Arsenal
