Report: Inter Milan Hold Preliminary Talks With Real Madrid Starlet’s Agents

Serie A leaders Inter Milan have reportedly opened talks with agents of Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler. He is one of the two players Inter are interested in g next summer.
Real Madrid signed Guler from Turkish side Fenerbahce in July 2023. The 20-year-old attacker, however, struggled to stay fit last season, only making his La Liga debut on Matchday 22.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti took his time bringing him back into the fold, giving him his first start on Matchday 33. He scored on his first full debut, adding four more goals to his name in the final three league games of the season.
Guler has put fitness issues behind him this season, but chances have continued to be few and far between. So far, he has played 18 La Liga matches, clocking a total of 644 minutes. He has scored one goal and provided three assists for the All-Whites.

His lack of game time has fueled transfer rumours, with Inter emerging as the latest team to be linked with the Turkey international. According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Inter recently reached out to Guler’s representatives to assess the possibility of a summer switch to San Siro. The Nerazzurri reportedly received a positive response from Guler’s camp.

The ball, however, is in Los Blancos’s court, as they have a long-term contract with Guler (until June 2029). Considering how highly they value the playmaker, they are unlikely to sell him to Inter in the summer transfer window. A loan move or a sale with a buyback clause could, however, be on the cards.
Guler reportedly was not the first name on Inter’s wishlist. They initially wanted to go for Nico Paz, who has been making waves at Como. However, g the Argentine would be far from straightforward, as Real Madrid inserted a €9 million (£7.6 million) purchase clause — which they must activate next summer — before selling him to Como. Inter, unwilling to get in the middle of a complicated negotiation, thus cooled their interest in Paz.
