Marco Silva’s side head into the tie in rather inconsistent form, having won just two of their last six games across all competitions. Last weekend, they came from behind to beat bottom of the table Southampton 2-1 in added time.

Their last meeting with the Villans, back in October at Craven Cottage, ended 3-1 in favour of the West Midlanders, with Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins netting a goal apiece, along with an own-goal from Issa Diop.

The Villans remain without Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford due to a hamstring issue, with Emery confirming last week that the forward will be ‘unavailable’ for ‘some weeks’.
