Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have missed out on the Premier League for the third consecutive season, this time to Arne Slot’s Liverpool. There have been some rumours about his future at Arsenal, but the Spaniard is likely to continue for at least one more season.

The Gunners, who will finish trophyless this season, are second in the Premier League rankings, trailing champions Liverpool by 15 points after 36 games. They, however, only have a five-point lead over fifth and sixth-placed Chelsea and Aston Villa, meaning that consecutive defeats could see them drop out of the top five.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United, meanwhile, are third in the Premier League rankings, trailing Arsenal by only a couple of points. They are more exposed to the possibility of dropping out of Champions League spots, so they may fight harder to get a positive result on Sunday.
