Ending months of speculation, Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract with Liverpool, drawing crazy reactions from ecstatic fans across social media. 

On Friday, April 11, Liverpool confirmed Salah had signed a contract extension with the club, agreeing to stay beyond the 2024-25 season. The Egypt international, who has reportedly signed a two-year deal, had previously hinted that it would be his final season with the Premier League leaders.

Mohamed Salah Signs New Liverpool Contract

Mohamed Salah, who ed the Reds from AS Roma in 2017, expressed his desire to stay at the club for at least a couple more years.

Reacting to his contract extension, the 32-year-old marksman told Liverpoolfc.com:

“Of course, I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.

“It’s great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully, it’s going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.”

He concluded by adding:

“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep ing us, and we’ll give it our best, and hopefully in the future, we’re going to win more trophies.”

Fans React As Mo Salah Signs New Liverpool Deal

Mohamed Salah has been enjoying a brilliant campaign for Liverpool in 2024-25. The former Chelsea man has scored 32 goals and provided 22 assists in 45 games across competitions. With 27 strikes and 17 assists, he has emerged as the leading scorer and assist provider in the Premier League.

Understandably, fans did not want to lose in-form Salah for free at the end of the campaign. So, Friday’s contract extension came as a big relief for them, drawing some hilarious reactions on X (formerly Twitter).
