From Myles Lewis-Skelly to Jorgen Strand Larsen: Gianni Buttice Identifies Six Players to Watch for 2025/26 FPL Season

The 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) league season saw more than 11.5 million take part — the most in the competition’s 23-year history. Mohamed Salah emerged as the highest-scoring player, amassing an all-time high 344 points. Lovro Budisin was crowned the FPL champion while Aleksi Koskelo and his Lapaset team lifted the FPL Cup.
To get to the finish in style, it is crucial to begin on a positive note, picking players who will pay big. Explore FPL expert Gianni Buttice’s guide to learn which six players are worth betting on for the 2025/25 FPL season
Gianni Buttice: Players to Watch for 2025/26 FPL Season
As we wait for fixtures and player prices, there is no harm in logging a handful of players who have shown all the right signs to have a stormer of a season next time out. These six players will all likely be under consideration for me when drafting ahead of Gameweek 1.
Myles Lewis-Skelly

Myles Lewis-Skelly will be listed as a defender next season and could be a cheap route to the Arsenal defence.
He’s become Arteta’s first-choice left back, and if he is priced 1 million less than an Arsenal centre back, he could offer great value.
Michael Kayode

Michael Kayode’s move from Fiorentina to Brentford has been made permanent, and the Italian right back caught the eye in April and May after starting the final six games, where his attacking threat was clear to see.
He has great energy to get up and down, is brilliant defensively one versus one and offers a long throw which Brentford look set to exploit. Any goals scored direct from a long throw do, of course, count as an FPL assist – Rory Delap owners may have fond memories from all those years ago.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka clocked three assists and five bonus points in his last four games for West Ham and has shown to be a key man in the West Ham attack too.
The former winger never looked comfortable in the final third for Manchester United, but the right back, who will at times be used as a wing back in a 3-4-3 at West Ham, looks much more confident under Graham Potter – surely The Hammers improve next season and attacking returns continue?
Amad Diallo

Amad Diallo was perhaps the biggest positive to come from another poor Manchester United season.
Amorim has used him as both a wing back and an inside forward in their 3-4-2-1 formation, but his attacking output doesn’t seem to be hindered when in the more “defensive” role. With no European football for Amorim’s men, many hope we will see improvements in the league, and if we do, Diallo will be a key cog in their attack.
Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo started and ended the season with a bang, and a successful campaign saw him 11 goals and 7 assists. Only Mo Salah took more shots, and greedy FPL assets that play 90 minutes should not go unnoticed.
Bournemouth rank fifth over the season for Expected Goals, and if they can manage to keep Andoni Iraola, then they’re clearly going to continue to improve.
Jorgen Strand Larsen

Jorgen Strand Larsen was majorly overlooked in FPL last season. Only eight forwards outscored the Norwegian, who will again be affordable.
Wolves have looked good under the new manager, and Larsen will continue to be the focal point of their attack. With Cunha leaving, there is a good chance the number 9 takes penalties too, he’s scored all three he’s taken in his professional career.
