Despite Neville’s disastrous spell as manager of Valencia in 2015-16—where he lasted just four months and won only three league games—Lynam remains convinced that the former United captain possesses the qualities needed to succeed at the club.

Writing for The Telegraph, he highlighted Neville’s deep connection with the club, strong personality, and business acumen as reasons why he could thrive as a manager.

“Neville would still be the best man for the job. He has Manchester United blood running through his veins. He is deeply hurt by the club’s present predicament,” Lynam wrote. “He has a powerful personality and would be a strong presence in the dressing room.”
