Gary Neville believes Arsenal are now out of the title race and the Sky Sports pundit has put it down to the Gunners failing to sign a striker.

Gary Neville Picks Key Reason Why Arsenal Are Out Of Title Race

The Gunners are now 15 points behind table-topping Liverpool after drawing 1-1 with Manchester United in Super Sunday’s main event.

Manchester United took the lead through Bruno Fernandes after the Portuguese international scored a stunning free kick just before the break.

Arsenal found an equaliser towards the end of the second-half thanks to a stunning strike from Declan Rice and Mikel Arteta’s side failed to find that crucial winner.

This result means the Gunners have failed to win from their last three Premier League matches and have scored just one goal along the way.

A lot has been made of Arsenal’s struggles in front of goal, despite a 7-1 win against PSV in the Champions League RO16 opening leg and Gary Neville spoke about the issue after the stalemate with Manchester United.

Neville said: “Arsenal still should have been closer to them. Arsenal of last season are as good if not better than the Liverpool of this season, so Arsenal should be neck and neck with Liverpool.

“I know they’ve had injuries but you’ve got a plan for that. I mean, Arsenal haven’t signed a striker for three years and then now it’s woe me about the fact that they haven’t got a striker. They’ve got Havertz up front, they’ve got Jesus. He doesn’t fancy, to be fair, Jesus anyway as a striker.

“Havertz is his only option, and surely you’ve got a plan in a 55-game season that you’re gonna lose a player or two. So the idea that they haven’t got backup for Havertz and Jesus is for me not right, and you know they’ve left themselves short in the transfer window.”

The Gunners do have a game in hand over Liverpool and can cut the deficit to 12 points with a win, but Liverpool are showing no signs of slowing down.

Arne Slot and Mikel Arteta will face off before the campaign comes to an end, as Liverpool welcome Arsenal to Anfield in May.
