London bragging rights are Fulham’s after a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Craven Cottage, with pressure mounting on Ange Postecoglou. You can watch the Fulham vs Spurs highlights below.

Fulham Inflict 2-0 Defeat On Spurs Thanks To Two Second Half Goals

Although Spurs travelled to Craven Cottage in decent form, the best football betting sites in the UK still favoured Fulham to do a job on Ange Postecoglou’s side in their Premier League meeting on Sunday afternoon.

Marco Silva’s side will have fancied this one, hoping to inflict another defeat on the visitors to keep their hopes of a European place alive. A win here for the home side would see them leapfrog Aston Villa and Bournemouth into eighth place, just four points off the Top 4.

For the visitors, a win would see them rise to 37 points, trying to salvage their season and perhaps secure a top half finish in the Premier League. The game had a real mid-table feel about it, and it’s fair to say the match itself was far from a thriller.

Spurs were flat in the first half, but equally the hosts couldn’t find a way of breaking them down and taking the lead. The first period of 45 minutes was rather uneventful, with the best chance probably going to The Cottagers as Raul Jimenez tried to get his head on a Calvin Bassey cross.

There were to be no goals in the first half, with all to play for in the second half in west London.

HT: Fulham 0-0 Spurs

The game hung firmly in the balance as the second half got underway, with the best UK betting apps now favouring a draw over a home or away victory.

Ange Postecoglou made two changes at the break, with Heung-Min Son and Lucas Bergvall both coming on in the hope of injecting some urgency and attacking threat into the Tottenham side.

Marco Silva also made a double change midway through the second half with Adama Traore and Rodrigo Muniz being introduced, but still neither side could find the opening goal. It felt like whoever scored here would claim all three points with a scrappy 1-0 win.

It was the hosts who struck first in the 78th minute to send Craven Cottage into raptures. Second half substitute Rodrigo Muniz was the one who broke the deadlock for the hosts, slotting home from inside the box after Andreas Pereira’s tee-up.

The Cottagers secured all three points as they doubled their lead in the 88th minute, with Ryan Sessegnon scoring just two minutes after coming off the bench.

This win for Fulham means they climb to eighth in the Premier League, with Spurs remaining in 13th place, level on points with Everton, Manchester United and West Ham.

Next up for Marco Silva’s Fulham is another London derby as they host Crystal Palace on Saturday 29th March in the quarter-final of the FA Cup. Fulham vs Palace is an early kick-off in a fortnight’s time, with the best online bookmakers favouring The Cottagers to progress to the semi-finals.

For Tottenham Hotspur, they can enjoy a near three week break now before their next match. Ange Postecoglou’s side don’t play now until the 3rd April as they travel across London to face Chelsea in their next Premier League encounter.
