The 2025 French Open gets underway at Roland Garros in Paris over the weekend, and there’s close to £50m in prize money up for grabs in the men’s and women’s singles events.

Tennis players competing at the 2025 French Open will be delighted to learn that the prize money for this year’s singles events has increased by 5.21% on last year, with the total pot now at €56.325m (£47.5m).

The champion will take home €2.55m (£2.16m), while the runner-up will earn €1.275m (£1.08m).

Jack Draper, Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter are the standout British names competing at the tournament, with all three enjoying success on clay courts thus far this season.

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, meanwhile, will be looking to defend his crown and claim a second major title at Roland Garros, and he heads into the event off the back of beating Jannik Sinner to win the Italian Open last week.

Sinner will also take part in Paris, having recently returned from a three-month doping ban.

Novak Djokovic, who is eyeing a record-extending 25th Grand Slam, will be hoping to bounce back after an underwhelming start to the season. The Serbian has also split with coach Andy Murray after just six months together.

The qualifying rounds for the French Open are already underway, and with the main draw fast approaching, we at SportsCasting are taking a look at the prize money on offer, so read on for the full breakdown.
