Let’s dive in.
FPL Salah’s Double Gameweek 33 Tips
Morgan Rogers (£5.6m) – Aston Villa
Fixtures: Newcastle United (H) and Manchester City (A)
Aston Villa have a decent double gameweek as they play Newcastle United (H) and Manchester City (A). Both fixtures look like there will be goals in them.
Morgan Rogers has been one of the most nailed players in the division. He has started every game he has been available for in the league.
The only match he missed was against Leicester City in Gameweek 20, in which he was suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
He is exactly the type of player you want for a double – has goal and assist threat and will play plenty of minutes.
Over the season he has eight goals and eight assists and has been one of the best value players in the game.
At his price he’s pretty easy to acquire and he can be your fourth or fifth midfielder, so going forward you don’t have to play him in every game.
The England international is at 31% to score at anytime over the two fixtures and is actually the best attacker to own from Villa due to his security of minutes.
Apart from him and Youri Tielemans (£5.5m), none of the others attackers are nailed-on to start.
Jakub Kiwior (£4.8m) – Arsenal
Fixtures: Ipswich (A) and Crystal Palace (H)
Arsenal have the best double of the week for clean sheet chances.
They are statistically the best defence in the league, having conceded the least goals (27) while also boasting the best xGC (27.2) in the division.
Ipswich have also scored the third least goals (33) and have the third worst xG (30.64) as well.
Jakub Kiwior has started every game since Gabriel (£6.2m) was ruled out for the season, which could be a sign of things to come.
He and Wiliam Saliba (£6.5m) are the only fit natural centre-backs for Arsenal, so I think Mikel Arteta might just keep this partnership for the rest of the season.
At his price he is absolutely fantastic value. You are getting a budget defender for the best defence in the league, who not only has a double but good fixtures until the end of the season,
Mikel Arteta’s side are at 44% to keep a clean sheet against Ipswich and also 44% against Palace, which means they have a 75% chance (first) of keeping at least one clean sheet.
Mikel Merino (£6.1m) – Arsenal
Fixtures: Ipswich (A) and Crystal Palace (H)
Arsenal also have the best double for attacking purposes in Double Gameweek 33.
They travel to Ipswich who are all but relegated and have a home fixture against Crystal Palace.
The former have conceded the third most goals (67) in the league and also have the third worst xGC (expected goals conceded; 63.1).
Since Kai Havertz (£7.7m) was ruled out for the season, Arteta has predominantly used Merino as the number nine and he hasn’t failed to deliver, scoring four goals in the last eight league games.
He’s also managed two goals and an assist in the Champions League in only three games playing as the centre forward, so knows exactly where the back of the net is.
I also think Merino has a good chance of starting both games in Double Gameweek 33. He was benched against Brentford in Gameweek 32 but that was due to Arsenal having to rest for their
important Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid.
With the form he has been in I don’t see him being dropped anytime soon, and at his price he represents great value.
It’s not often you get a £6.1m out of position midfielder for one of the best teams in the league.
The Spaniard is at a healthy 51% to score at anytime over the two games.
Arsenal will also be the favourites to score the most goals over their double.
