This week, FPL Salah will be presenting his top three FPL tips for differentials ahead of Gameweek 9, which can help you shoot up the ranks over the coming weeks.

FPL Differential Tips for Gameweek 9

Alejandro Garnacho (£6.2m) – Manchester United – 7.9%

Fixture: West Ham (A)

The Argentinian has arguably been Manchester United’s best player and is their current top points scorer (30 points) with two goals and one assist.

He has also started and played 90 minutes in the last four games, so looks fairly nailed on in the starting XI.

Garnacho has ed an impressive 15 shots in the box and an xG of 2.8, which is the highest amongst his teammates. Manchester United have been poor this season but were much improved in their 2-1 win over Brentford last week. They also come up against West Ham this week, who have been porous at the back.

The Hammers have conceded the fourth most goals (15) with an xGC of 12.8 (bottom eight) and sit 15th in the league after eight matches.

Erik ten Hag’s side will be favourites to win this, and Garnacho looks like their brightest spark. They also have good fixtures on the horizon, with three home games in the next five: West Ham (A), Chelsea (H), Leicester City (H), Ipswich (A), and Everton (H).

At only £6.2m, he is great value and won’t be too difficult to acquire.

Nikola Milenković (£4.5m) – Nottingham Forest – 0.8% owned

Fixture: Wolves (H)

Nikola Milenković has been a great addition for Nottingham Forest, strengthening their already resolute defence. Last season Forest finished as the fourth-best defence in the league in of xGC, and they have shown again this term that it was no fluke. So far they have only let in six goals (second-least) and actually boast the second-best xGC (7.7).

This makes their defenders fantastic value for not only this week but the long term. Milenković is nailed to start in that backline and also has the highest goal threat from the defence. He has four shots in the box with an xG of 1.1 and has an assist to his name already.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side play Leicester in Gameweek 9, who will do very well to get anything here.

This is a fixture where the Serbian defender will have an opportunity to gain points at both ends of the pitch. Also at £4.5m, he is a great long-term hold, especially if you look at Forest’s fixtures. They play Leicester (A), West Ham (H), Newcastle United (H) and Ipswich (H) during the next five.

Iliman Ndiaye (£5.4m) – Everton – 1.2% owned

Fixture: Fulham (H)

Iliman Ndiaye has had a great start to the season for Everton and is going relatively under the radar. He has two goals thus far and is getting plenty of minutes too.

The 24-year-old is looking like a great value pick, despite playing for Everton, who aren’t the most prolific in front of goal.

Everton have great fixtures until Gameweek 14, starting with Fulham at home in Gameweek 9, and Ndiaye also acts as a great enabler at his price. He is most definitely worth it as an eighth attacker who you can rotate with another player, and his cheap price means you can bolster other areas of your squad.

In 144 career games, the Senegalese international has 29 goals and 19 assists. He scored 14 goals and 11 assists for Sheffield United in the 2022/23 season in the Championship also.

Therefore, he knows where the back of the net is and can get you assists too.

Ndiaye should do well over the medium term, where the Toffees play Fulham (H), Southampton (A), West Ham (A), Brentford (H), and Wolves (H).
