FPL General returns with his latest round of Fantasy Premier League tips ahead of Gameweek 38 – this week ranking the best captains for the final gameweek of the season.

FPL Gameweek 38 Tips: Ranking The Best Captains

Mohamed Salah vs Crystal Palace (H)

The best FPL asset of all time faces Crystal Palace at home, who have been busy celebrating their FA Cup win.

Salah’s form has dipped in recent weeks, having ed just one goal and one assist across his last eight league appearances. However, he is still getting opportunities, as he ed six shots in the box in Gameweek 37 vs Brighton.

As well, the Egyptian is on the verge of equalling the record for the most goal involvements in a single Premier League season. Alan Shearer and Andy Cole hold the t record with 47, while Salah is just one behind on 46. He’ll be desperate to equal, if not sur, that record against the Eagles to cap off another incredible campaign.

Evanilson vs Leicester City (H)

Bournemouth have the best fixture of the gameweek, as they host already-relegated Leicester City.

Evanilson, being the focal point of their attack, should see him garner some points this weekend. He might even take penalties if Justin Kluivert, whose minutes have been inconsistent as of late, is not on the pitch.

Bukayo Saka vs Southampton (A)

Arsenal also have a great fixture to round off the campaign, as they travel down to the south coast to take on another already-relegated side in bottom-of-the-table Southampton.

Bukayo Saka scored and got two assists in the reverse fixture at the Emirates in Gameweek 7, providing managers with a 16-pointer! He could be set for another double-digit points haul at St. Mary’s.

Best Differential Captains

Bryan Mbeumo vs Wolves (A)

Brentford talisman Bryan Mbeumo is an excellent option if you’re looking for a differential captain, as his side play away to Wolves in what has the potential to be a high-scoring affair. 21 goals have been scored in the Bees’ last five league games, while there were six goals scored in Wolves’ defeat to Crystal Palace last time out.

If there are goals at Molineux, Mbeumo is likely to be right amongst them. The Cameroon international has ed 19 goals, nine assists and 28 bonus points in 2024-25 and scored against Fulham last weekend.

Jarrod Bowen vs Ipswich Town (A)

In-form West Ham star Jarrod Bowen, who is a riser in the latest FPL price changes for Gameweek 38, is another great captaincy option as the East Londoners travel to Suffolk for an away fixture against Ipswich.

Bowen has provided attacking returns in six of his last seven appearances (five goals and two assists), scoring in each of his last three league outings, and he’s clearly the Hammers’ talisman.

Erling Haaland vs Fulham (A)

The forgotten man in FPL, Erling Haaland. Since returning from injury at the start of the month, the Norwegian has started three in succession across all competitions, featuring for the full 90 minutes twice.

His minutes look safe, and with Manchester City needing a result against Fulham to secure Champions League qualification for next season, there’s potential for a points haul here.

He’s not a bad player to have in your team if you’re chasing!
