Pingreen is back with his FPL Gameweek 37 picks as the Premier League reaches the final weeks of the season.

Hello FPL fans! My name is Pingreen, and I’m back to share my top picks for Gameweek 37 and beyond, right here on SportsCasting.

I finished 700th in the world in 2022/23 and ranked 1,330th last season, so make sure you take my advice seriously.

It’s the penultimate week of the Premier League season. If you still have it all to fight for in your mini-league, you’re in the right place.

Pingreen’s FPL Gameweek 37 Picks

Captain Pick – Cole Palmer – £10.5m – MUN (H)

Pingreen is backing Chelsea’s Cole Palmer to wear the FPL armband this week.

My captain pick for FPL Gameweek 37 is a man who went on an 18-game goal drought across all competitions, lasting nearly four months — that’s right, it’s Cole Palmer.

He ended that cold streak in early May when he scored a stoppage-time penalty against Premier League champions Liverpool in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory.

Although it took a late penalty to get him back on the scoresheet, he looked back to his best — and owners would argue he could’ve come away with much more, racking up 1.67 xGI for the game.

There are two simple reasons he’s such a strong captaincy option this week — and it’s not just because he ed how to score.

Chelsea are one of the few teams still with everything to play for, with a place in next season’s Champions League up for grabs.

Their opponents, Manchester United, are the polar opposite.

For United, Wednesday’s Europa League final is their clear priority, with nothing left to play for in the league — meaning an already poor side is likely to be even weaker due to heavy rotation.

Palmer could feast.

Defender – Vitalii Mykolenko – £4.4m – SOU (H)

Everton’s Mykolenko is a solid option in defence this week.

After a 133-year stay, Everton will play their final game at Goodison Park on Sunday before moving to a brand-new, shiny stadium next season.

If they want to go out on a high, there probably isn’t a better side to face than Southampton — making Ukrainian defender Mykolenko my defensive pick for this Gameweek.

The Saints have only scored 24 goals all season, the lowest in the league by a decent margin (with Leicester second-worst on 31).

As well as Southampton being toothless, Everton haven’t been easy to break down since Moyes’ arrival, and their 44 goals conceded ranks in the top half of the division.

When it comes to which Everton defender to choose, none are bursting with goal threat — but Mykolenko showed last week against Fulham that he’s still capable of getting on the scoresheet.

Midfielder – Marco Asensio – £6.1m – TOT (H)

Marco Asensio is a great addition to your FPL midfield for Gameweek 37.

Like Chelsea, Aston Villa are a side with everything to play for this Gameweek — and they face a Tottenham team expected to rotate heavily due to a looming European final.

That makes many of Villa’s players solid picks. The one who excites me most is Marco Asensio.

The Spanish attacker has been a revelation since ing Villa on loan from PSG in January — averaging 0.63 xGI per 90 and contributing 4 goal involvements in Villa’s push for Champions League qualification.

On Friday night, Asensio and Villa welcome Tottenham to Villa Park.

Outside of the three sides already relegated, Postecoglou’s team have conceded the most expected goals in the league — 59.7 xGA — a key reason why they currently sit 17th in the table.

Like United, they also have a Europa League final to prioritise — meaning a poor team could become even worse via rotation.

Forward – Jamie Vardy – £5.3m – IPS (H)

Few would bet against Jamie Vardy bagging one last goal for Leicester this weekend.

At the end of the 2024/25 season, Jamie Vardy is set to leave Leicester City after an incredible 13-year run with the club.

Sunday’s home game against Ipswich Town will mark his 500th appearance for the Foxes, and he currently sits on 199 goals — how could I not make him my striker pick?

It’s no secret Leicester have been incredibly poor this season, especially since Ruud van Nistelrooy took over.

But even at the ripe old age of 38, Vardy has still racked up 12 goal contributions in the league and is averaging a respectable 0.45 xGI per 90 minutes.

While those numbers aren’t league-leading, they still comfortably make him Leicester’s top attacking contributor.

His opposition this weekend, Ipswich Town, haven’t been much better — and both sides are set to return to the Championship.

Ipswich and Leicester are tied for goals conceded with 75, but Ipswich have actually given up more xG per 90, second only to Southampton in that stat.

I struggle to see a world where Vardy doesn’t sign off an iconic Premier League career with his 200th goal this weekend
