FPL Salah Offers His Top Fantasy Premier League Captain Tips For Gameweek 37

FPL Salah is back with his FPL gameweek 37 tips ahead of the penultimate round of Premier League action.
Abdul Rehman, known in the community as Fantasy Premier League tips as part of his ongoing series with SportsCasting.
With over 17 years of FPL experience, 14 top 50k finishes, and four top 1k finishes, you’re in safe hands.
This week, FPL Salah discusses the best captain for Gameweek 37. This looks like another week with no clear-cut options for who to give the armband to.
Whether you’re an FPL veteran or aiming for your best rank yet, nailing your captain each week is a key part of a successful campaign.
Abdul will highlight his top three options and further help you by giving them his own rankings.
Let’s dive in.
FPL Salah’s Gameweek 37 Captaincy Tips
Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) – Aston Villa

Fixtures: Spurs (H)
Ollie Watkins has had another solid season with 16 goals and seven assists.
Aston Villa have a fantastic fixture in Gameweek 37 as they welcome Spurs to Villa Park.
Spurs have been terrible this season as they sit 17th in the league.
They have also conceded 59 goals (fifth-most) with an xGC of 59.3 (fourth-most) so have clearly been one of the worst defences in the division.
Going into this week, Ange Postecoglou will also very likely play a rotated side due to their Europa League semi-final against Manchester United being played five days later.
This would have already been a good fixture for Watkins but with a rotated team it propels him to a genuine captaincy contender this week.
Villa will also see this game as a must win as they need to win their next two matches to have any chance of getting a Champions League spot.
Watkins should play plenty of minutes too with Marcus Rashford (£6.6m) likely out for the season.
The England forward is the second favourite to score at anytime (53%) in Gameweek 37.
Ranking: 9.4/10
Bryan Mbeumo (£8.2m) – Brentford

Fixtures: Fulham (H)
Bryan Mbeumo is another one who has had a fine season.
The Cameroon international has netted an impressive 18 goals and created nine assists.
He was a popular captaincy pick for the last two gameweeks, and didn’t really get the scores we expected but he still picked up an attacking returns.
His consistency is there and we know he’s also capable of a big haul too – Mbeumo has six double digit hauls.
Brentford have a plum fixture against Fulham at home in Gameweek 37.
Thomas Frank’s side are an attack first type of team and this looks like a game in which we will see goals from both teams.
The great thing about Mbeumo is he just has so many avenues to points.
He is nailed to play the whole game, is on set-pieces and penalties and is the talisman for his team.
Mbeumo is at a healthy 38% to score at any time and he has the assist threat too.
Ranking: 9.3/10
Cole Palmer (£10.5m) – Chelsea

Fixtures: Man United (H)
Cole Palmer’s dip in form in the second half of the season has been a huge surprise for everyone.
The Chelsea talisman has 15 goals and 10 assists but has no open play goals since Gameweek 21. Since then he has a total of one goal (penalty) and three assists.
However I think it’s a matter of time before he hits the heights of the previous one and a half seasons. He is a proven FPL asset and elite player who is going through a bad patch.
The 23-year-old has a brilliant fixture in Gameweek 37 to get back to scoring ways.
Similar to Spurs, Ruben Amorim will also rotate in this fixture as they prepare for their Europa League final.
It’s clear they have given up on the league as they sit 16th with no chance of finishing in a European qualifying spot.
Chelsea on the other hand will be the total opposite in of motivation.
With the top four race so close they will see this game as a must win, which also means Palmer is likely to play the full game.
Palmer is also nailed to start, on penalties and set pieces.
I actually really like him for captain this week and think he is especially good for those chasing rank.
If you are chasing in mini-leagues or rank then you wont find a better differential to shoot you up the ranks.
Although his overall ownership is at 34% it will be much lower among engaged managers.
Palmer is also the third favourite (49%) to score at anytime.
