Holly Shand runs through her best captain picks in her FPL Gameweek 35 tips on SportsCasting.

With Liverpool having the Premier League title secured with four gameweeks remaining, motivation becomes a big factor in picking who receives the armband this week. So who are the best captain picks?

FPL Gameweek 35 Tips: Holly Shand’s Best Captain Picks

Mohamed Salah vs Chelsea (A)

In my eyes, Mohamed Salah remains the best captain pick this week. Liverpool can play with the pressure off as they celebrate a remarkable season, with Salah still going for records in a campaign where he has 46 goal involvements from 34 Premier League appearances.

He has seen a dip in form from his very high standards since the international break, with just one goal and one assist in this time, as he fails to improve on 17 double-digit hauls. However, he still has the potential in his routes to points, including penalties.

Salah has plenty of history against his former employers Chelsea, racking up 12 points in the 2-1 win earlier this season, with a goal and an assist. Chelsea will have played in their Conference League semi-final on Thursday, and so Liverpool are expected to have the better of their opponents.

Bryan Mbeumo vs Manchester United (H)

Bryan Mbeumo tops the transfers in for Gameweek 35 as form and fixtures collide, with many managers considering trusting the second highest scoring player in the game with the armband. It’s well justified when you consider he has 25 goal involvements for the season at the time of writing.

Both sides come into this fixture off the back of a Thursday night game, but Manchester United will be distracted by their involvement in the Europa League semi-finals and likely rotate their players for this league game, giving the Bees the significant advantage.

Mbeumo has been in great form since the international break, with three goals and one assist in this period. He continues to be Brentford’s main outlet, with penalties also in his locker. The home advantage will also be significant.

Omar Marmoush vs Wolves (H)

Omar Marmoush should be guaranteed minutes once again as Manchester City entertain Wolves, with fellow forward Erling Haaland only just back in training and likely to be closely managed with the FA Cup final in mind, which is two weeks away.

Marmoush has been a great understudy since arriving in the January transfer window, producing seven goal involvements from 11 starts for the club. Two of his goals have come since the international break, where he’s played 90 minutes on four occasions and his side is unbeaten in this period.

Do bear in mind that it is a Friday deadline this week with this being the first fixture, and so if Marmoush fails to deliver, it could be a painful FPL weekend ahead given the potential to come for both Salah and Mbeumo in Sunday’s fixtures.
