Welcome back to our Fantasy Premier League tips series, provided by Siva & Sam, the twisted minds behind the FPL Banger Podcast. This article is now being written by someone who is ranked in the top 10k of FPL (9,857 to be precise). If you like the sound of that, read on.

FPL Banger Tips Week 36

BEST CAPTAIN

Bryan Tetsadong Marceau Mbeumo (£8.1m) – Ipswich (A)

Mbeumo walking away from GW35 with just 5 points in a game where 7 goals were scored was a little underwhelming and did have me briefly rethinking captaincy this week. But then I ed that Brentford’s opposition this week are already relegated and have conceded at least 2 goals in every home game in 2025. Bryan managed 15 points the last time he faced Ipswich, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he matches that haul in GW36.

TOP PICKS

Ederson (£5.3m) and Josko Gvardiol (£6.4m) – Southampton (A)

Many pundits and fans have said that Southampton are having a forgettable season, but I couldn’t disagree more. The Saints are having a historic season, as they remain on course to match the worst-ever Premier League points tally (11) set by Derby County way back in 2008. Last week they clinched 20th place with a 2-0 defeat at Leicester, failing to score against a team that hadn’t kept a clean sheet in about 7 months.

Man City meanwhile look increasingly likely to cap off their worst season in recent history by finishing 2nd in the league. I’m tired, Robbie.

Kevin De Bruyne (£9.5m) – Southampton (A)

“I have shown I can still play here, otherwise I don’t do what I do these last four or five weeks. A lot of teammates have spoken to me, they are sad also that I have to go. It goes like this in life, but the way I am performing is the way I should be.

I just try to play as well as I can. I have one game left here. I try to do my job as always and I did that. I am proud of what I am doing.”

We need to talk about Kevin. Man City’s decision to allow one of the all-time Premier League greats to leave hasn’t gone down well with the Belgian, but he’s replying in the best way possible – scoring and creating goals.

With news emerging this week that MLS side Chicago Fire are the favourites to sign KDB, I’m expecting big things from Kevin in GW36. What greater motivation can there be than the prospect of playing under Gregg Berhalter?

Chris Wood (£7.1m) – Leicester (H)

It will be an emotional game for all involved this season, as Leicester fans say goodbye to a forward who isn’t just a Leicester City legend, but a Premier League legend. Someone who basically won them the Premier League title back in 2016.

I’m obviously talking about Chris Wood, who had 2 glorious seasons at the King Power before leaving in 2015 for Leeds United, with his transfer fee helping Leicester to sign N’Golo Kante.

Forest are still guaranteed a Champions League spot if they win all of their final 3 games, and I wood fully expect Chris to be on the scoresheet this week.
