FPL Banger are back with their gameweek 35 tips ahead of another exciting round for Fantasy Premier League players.

Welcome to a new series for the 2024/25 season, provided by Siva & Sam, the twisted minds behind the FPL Banger Podcast.

After a successful Free Hit last week, we’ve made it to the top 10k of Fantasy Premier League (10,552 counts as top 10k, right?). If you like the sound of that, read on.

FPL Banger Gameweek 35 Tips

BEST CAPTAIN

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.1m)

Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is a superb choice for gameweek 35.

Fixture: Man United (H)

Captaincy is a proper coin-toss this week. While Salah is usually the default pick, Arne Slot has said that he will rotate for the final 4 games of the season.

Perhaps Google Pixel are waiting on that Darwin selfie. He’ll probably drop the phone though.

Omar Marmoush is a viable pick, but Wolves have won each of their past six Premier League games, the t-longest winning run of any side this term.

That brings us to Bryan Mbeumo. After an 18 pointer in his last home game, the 2nd highest scoring asset in FPL faces a Man United side that has one eye on the 2nd leg of their Europa League semi-final.

All that stands between Man United and a European trophy this season (and Champions League football next season!) is Athletic Bilbao and the mighty Spurs.

So when Ruben Amorim says, “we have to be clear: our focus is more on saving players and trying to be competitive. It’s not a good thing to say but we need to understand the context”, what he’s basically saying is please captain Mbeumo.

TOP PICKS

Jordan Pickford (£5.1m) and Jake O’Brien (£4.5m)

Everton’s Jordan Pickford is FPL Banger’s choice in goal this week.

Fixture: Ipswich (H)

Last week we picked Rob Sanchez and Marc Cucurella – if you listened, you’re welcome.

This time out we’re targeting Everton again, but for a different reason. Ipswich have lost their last 2 games, conceding 7 goals and scoring 0 in the process, recording a combined xG of just 0.3.

While I can’t blame Ed Sheeran’s boys for not being perfect, thinking out loud, I just don’t see them scoring.

I’m in love with the shape of Everton’s defence, especially since Jake O’Brien has broken into their A Team.

Bryan Mbeumo (£8.1m)

Bryan Mbeumo should definitely be in your team this week, even if you don’t captain him.

Fixture: Man United (H)

Even if you aren’t fully sold on captaining Mbeumo this week, it’s tough to argue against the 2nd best pick in FPL when he’s up against the guys who aren’t good enough to be 1st choice for the 14th best team in the league.

Ollie Watkins (£8.9m)

Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins is another great attacking pick for FPL gameweek 35.

Fixture: Fulham (H)

Everything is coming together for Ollie Watkins.

Villa have something to play for, they are out of the cups, Rashford is out for the season, and Jhon Durán has left competitive football at the age of 21 only to go and lose to Kawasaki Frontale despite playing for a team containing Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, Marcelo Brozovic and Ronaldo.

Fulham almost failed to beat the worst-ever Premier League team last week, going behind at Southampton.

If you have the funds, you’ve got to go for Ollie.
