Formula One star, Carlos Sainz, made an interesting prediction for the 2025 golf Masters, as the Spaniard has picked Rory McIlroy to reign victorious.
Carlos Sainz Picks Rory McIlroy In 2025 Masters Prediction
The F1 driver revealed how much he loves watching the Masters in a recent interview with Sky Sports and has picked Rory McIlroy to win the tournament that starts on April 7th.
McIlroy has never won the competition at Augusta but during his 16 appearances, the Northern Irishman has finished in the top 10 on seven occasions and took second place in 2022 which is still his best finish.
Finding form at major tournaments has been a difficult task for the European golf star in recent times and he has also spoke about a repeated elbow injury that is causing some issues in the build up to the 2025 Masters.
Despite this, Carlos Sainz is hopeful that McIlroy can pick up his first Masters title and was disappointed he will not be able to watch the event as he spoke about his love for golf in the build up to the Japanese Grand Prix.
Sainz said: “I cannot watch the Masters as I’m in Bahrain, normally I watch 10 hours of the Masters is the best tournament in the world and I cannot do that in Bahrain but I will be following as much as possible.”
“I would like Rory (McIlory) to win I think he deserves it, he’s playing well and it’s time for him to win a major again so I will be ing.”
The Northern Irishman is one of the favourites to win the competition, however, last year’s winner and two-time Masters champion Scottie Scheffler is also regarded as a likely winner.
Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Ludvig Adberg are also strong contenders, as Rahm looks to an elite list of players to win the competition on multiple occasions.
