With the Carabao Cup Third Round underway, here’s our Everton Vs Southampton predicted lineups ahead of Tuesday night’s clash at Goodison Park.

The Premier League’s bottom two sides each have the chance to pick up a vital, morale-boosting win when they face off on Merseyside this Tuesday.

Everton and Southampton are the only teams in the top flight yet to pick up a point, with both losing four from four.

Sean Dyche’s Toffees have conceded 13 goals, while Russell Martin’s Saints have scored just once.

Both will be desperate to perform well and stop the early season rot.

But only one team can progress, meaning further disappointment for the other.

Southampton won 5-3 at Cardiff City in the last round. Everton meanwhile saw off Doncaster Rovers 3-0 to set up this all-Premier League tie.

Everton Team News

Toffees boss Sean Dyche will likely prioritise the league over the cup, with his side bottom of the Premier League.

This means plenty of changes can be expected, including potential starts for new gs Jesper Lindstrom and Jake O’Brien.

The pair both featured against Doncaster Rovers in the previous round.

Jarrad Branthwaite is not expected to be fit just yet, with the weekend’s trip to Leicester City a more likely return for the defender.

James Garner and Abdoulaye Doucoure could return to the side after losing their places in recent games, and Beto may get the nod up front if Dyche rests Calvert-Lewin.

Southampton Team News

Saints captain Jack Stephens will be suspended for Tuesday’s clash after he was sent off for a bad tackle on Manchester United’s Garnacho at the weekend.

Young starlet Tyler Dibling was a shining light on a bad day for his club, and could be rested for league action.

Manager Russell Martin made 11 changes for the trip to Cardiff City last time out in this competition, and may well do the same again here.

In of injuries, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Will Smallbone are not yet fit, while Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu continues his long layoff from an achilles tendon rupture.

Everton Vs Southampton Predicted Lineups:

Everton predicted lineup:

Pickford, Garner, Tarkowski, O’Brien, Young; Lindstrom, Iroegbunam, Doucoure, McNeil; Ndiaye, Beto

Southampton predicted lineup:

McCarthy; Bree, Harwood-Bellis, Edwards, Taylor; Aribo, Lallana, Mateus Fernandes; Fraser, Armstrong, Amo-Ameyaw
