Thomas Tuchel made it two wins from two as the Three Lions manager with a 3-0 victory and you can find out our England player ratings vs Latvia below.

England were frustrated by Latvia who like Albania on Friday provided a resolute defensive performance for much of the opening hour.

It took a brilliant first-half free-kick for Tuchel’s side to find the lead. Latvia then fell apart when the Three Lions brought on some fresh legs after the hour mark.

There were some impressive performances by some. However, a number of England players were far from their best.

England Player Ratings vs Latvia

Jordan Pickford – 6

Had nothing to do for much of the game but nearly gifted Latvia the opening goal after a defensive mix-up with Marc Guehi.

Reece James – 8

Made his first start for England since September 2022 and showed his class with a brilliant free-kick to get his first senior international goal.

Has been plagued by injury problems and will hope they are now behind him so that he can become a regular fixture in this England team under Thomas Tuchel.

Reece James scored on his return to the England team

Marc Guehi – 5

Mix-up with Jordan Pickford nearly gifted Latvia a shock lead and also allowed them another chance from the edge of the box following a heavy touch. Defensively had little to do otherwise.

Ezri Konsa – 7

Had little to do defensively so was often found in attacking positions and will be wondering how he didn’t score his first international goal in the first-half when the Latvia goalkeeper made a brilliant save.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 6.5

Not quite the eye-catching performance of his England debut against Albania. However, he was very tidy in position and won his defensive duels.

A successful international break for Lewis-Skelly who could become a regular part of this England squad for many years to come.

Declan Rice – 7

Looked frustrated at times as Latvia defended resolutely but he showed bundles of energy, was strong in possession and provided his second assist for Harry Kane in the space of three days.

Jude Bellingham – 5

Tidy in possession but didn’t offer much in an attacking sense. Very fortunate not to be sent off when he sent Raivis Jurkovskis sprawling when already on a yellow card.

Replaced by Phil Foden after 67 minutes as Tucheld decided to protect him.

Jarrod Bowen – 5

Quiet night for the West Ham star who was replaced after an hour. Needs to offer more when presented with these opportunities if he is to have any chance of becoming a regular starter.

Morgan Rogers – 8

First start for England and was their most lively attacking player during the game. He constantly ran at the Latvia defence and looked desperate to find the back of the net which he was unfortunate not to do so.

Marcus Rashford – 7

Did his future international chances no harm with a lively display. He created plenty of chances before he was replaced in the second-half.

Harry Kane – 7

Far from his best display as he struggled to get on the ball at times and missed two big opportunities

Made no mistake though when Declan Rice put the ball on a plate for him to smash home.
