British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran apologises for unintentionally gatecashing Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim’s first post-match interview.

The Thinking Out Loud star is a huge Ipswich Town fan and was present during the Tractor Boys 1-1 draw with the Red Devils at Portman Road on Sunday.

In the summer, Sheeran acquired a minority stake in his boyhood club as they returned to the Premier League for the first time since 2002.

Marcus Rashford scored the first goal under Amorim’s reign after just 81 seconds in Suffolk. Two minutes before half-time, Omari Hutchinson hit a stunning leveller.

Both sides pressed for a winner in the second period but the points were ultimately shared. However, it was Sheeran’s antics that caused one of the main talking points.

The other came in the shape of a certain Roy Keane. The Sky Sports pundit reacted furiously to a fan’s insults. The er in question later revealed what he said to the Irishman.

Ed Sheeran Apologises For Ruben Amorim Interview Mishap

Almost 24 hours after the draw, Ed Sheeran apologises for interrupting the pitchside interview between Sky Sports’ Kelly Cates and Ruben Amorim.

The new Manchester United boss did not look happy about Sheeran’s unexpected presence whilst being quizzed live on television. And Jamie Redknapp’s greeting of the popstar didn’t help matters.

Many were quick to blast Sheeran via social media. On X, formerly Twitter, once labelled the intrusion as ‘completely disrespectful.’

Sheeran explained his actions on Monday afternoon via Instagram: “Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday, didn’t realise he was actually being interviewed at the time, was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie.

Obz feel a bit of a be***** but life goes on. Great game though, congrats to all involved x.” After Sunday’s stalemate, Ipswich are 18th in the Premier League with nine points.

Up next, the Tractor Boys take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on November 30. The best football betting sites in the UK have all the latest markets, odds, price boosts and enhanced accas.
