Rumours are circulating that the Merab Dvalishvili vs Sean O’Malley rematch has been officially signed for the UFC 316 main event in June.

Merab Dvalishvili vs Sean O’Malley Officially Signed For UFC 316

It is being reported that we now have a new UFC 316 main event as Merab Dvalishvili vs Sean O’Malley 2 has been officially signed and will be announced imminently.

The Dvalishvili vs O’Malley rematch has been talked about for some time now, with O’Malley recently beginning training again after undergoing surgery following an injury in the aftermath of their first bout back in at September 2024 UFC 306.

Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara- has been officially announced for UFC 316 with the UFC Flyweight Title on the line. It looks like that fight will now be the co-main event to Dvalishvili vs O’Malley 2 following the latest UFC 316 rumours.

Sean O’Malley hasn’t fought since that defeat at the hands of Merab Dvalishvili back in September 2024. Dvalishvili became champion of the 135-pound division after beating ‘Suga’ via unanimous decision.

Since then, the champion has made a successful defence of his UFC Bantamweight Title against Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC 311 back in January. Now, it looks like his second defence will be against the man he won the belt off back in September.

The best UFC betting sites in the UK will likely favour Dvalishvili in the rematch at UFC 316. That being said, O’Malley is a world class fighter and is more than capable of getting revenge on the Georgian MMA star on June 7th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

UFC Bantamweight Title On The Line For Dvalishvili vs O’Malley Rematch

UFC President Dana White is leaving no stone unturned with the fights already announced for the UFC 316 main card.

Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara- for the UFC Flyweight Title and Juliana Pena vs Kayla Harrison for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title have already been officially announced.

With the Merab Dvalishvili vs Sean O’Malley rematch now reportedly officially signed, this means that there will be a staggering three UFC Title fights on the UFC 316 main card on June 7 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

As the 135-pound champion, Merab Dvalishvili will put his UFC Bantamweight Title on the line against Sean O’Malley in their rematch in the UFC 316 main event.

‘Suga’ is of course the former champion, and will be confident of winning the bantamweight belt back at the first time of asking. That being said, the best UK online bookmakers have him listed as an underdog, so he’ll need to defy these odds if he has any chance of becoming a two-time UFC Bantamweight Champion.

Stay tuned for an officially announcement on the Merab Dvalishvili vs Sean O’Malley rematch in the UFC 316 main event this June.
