Donald Trump’s Aberdeenshire Golf Course Set To Host DP World Tour Scottish Championship In August

President of the United States Donald Trump’s Aberdeenshire golf course will host the Scottish Championship in August as part of the DP World Tour.
The event will replace the cancelled Czech Masters and take place from 7-10 August at the Trump International Course.
This will be only the second time the Scottish Championship has been played, with it being held at Fairmount St Andrews in October 2020.
Where Is Donald Trump’s Golf Course In Scotland?
Donald Trump’s Scottish golf course is in the Menie area, about 10 miles north of Aberdeen.
It opened in 2012, and has hosted PGA tournaments in 2023 and 2024.
DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings said: “Trump International Golf Links Scotland has already earned a reputation as one of the best modern links courses in the UK, and it promises to be an excellent venue for the return of the Scottish Championship.”
Boasting a $2.75m (£2m) prize fund, the Scottish Championship will be played at the same time as the FedEx St Jude Championship in the LIV Golf event in August.
How Many Golf Courses Does Donald Trump Own?
The Trump International course isn’t the only Scottish location owned by the US President.
In 2014, he purchased Turnberry in South Ayrshire. He gave control of his Scottish courses to his son in 2017, but retains financial involvement.

In total, the Trump Organisation owns or manages 17 courses around the world.
A further three future courses are currently in development, including two in Indonesia.
What Is Donald Trump’s Golf Handicap?
According to American golfing icon Jack Nicklaus, Donald Trump “loves the game of golf more than he loves money.”
Previously reported in Golf Digest, Donald Trump’s handicap has been as low as 2.8.
This is a number heavily disputed by some, but there is no doubt that the President is a ionate and talented golfer.
In his 2205 book, The Best Golf Advice I Ever Received, Trump wrote: “for me and millions of people – men, women, young and old around the world – golf is more than a game. It is a ion”
