Football Twitter Reacts As Diogo Jota Scores On His 100th Start For Liverpool

A Diogo Jota goal on his 100th start for Liverpool gave the Reds a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in Saturday’s early kick-off. 

Arne Slot’s excellent start on Merseyside continues thanks to Jota’s first half winner in south London proved enough to claim all three points.

The Premier League leaders will definitely remain top of the pile going into the international break. However, it was Jota’s milestone finish that garnered all of the talking points on X, formerly Twitter.

Diogo Jota Goal Sees Praise Heaped On Liverpool Star

On his 100th start for Liverpool, a Diogo Jota goal saw plenty of s online heap praise on the Reds forward. It was also the Portuguese international’s 60th goal for the club.

In his last 14 Premier League starts, Jota has now been directly involved in 13 goals (eight goals, five assists). Naturally, the praise on X, formerly Twitter is truly justified.

For manager Arne Slot, the Dutchman has now won nine of his first ten games in all competitions. Saturday’s victory was vital with games against Arsenal, Aston Villa and Chelsea on the horizon.

Even more so will be Jota’s contribution in the aforementioned fixtures. The 27-year-old has been instrumental on Merseyside since ing in 2020.

His winner on matchday 7 against Crystal Palace was just his second Premier League goal of the season. Jota also has a pair of assists in England’s elite this year.

Most notably, Jota has never been on the losing side in a top-flight game in which he has scored in playing for Wolves and Liverpool. The record currently stands at 48 matches.

Jota has six games to go to match former teammate James Milner (54) record and twelve more for Gabriel Jesus (60). With the way Slot’s team are playing, he could easily reach their numbers sooner rather than later.
