Sheffield Wednesday Fans Name Their Ideal Danny Rohl Replacement

Sheffield Wednesday fans have listed their ideal candidates of Danny Rohl replacements with the German gaffer seemingly set on leaving the club.
Rohl is adored by the Hillsborough faithful but the 35-year-old has been strongly linked with a return to Southampton at the end of the season.
Since taking charge in October 2023, Rohl has worked wonders in S6. He led Wednesday to EFL Championship safety in 2024 before mounting a playoff push this term.
However, the dreams of obtaining Premier League status appear to be waning. Rohl’s side have hit a sticky patch of form and are currently seven points off the top six.
Nonetheless, that hasn’t stopped the Saints pursuing Rohl this summer. The South Coast side looked resigned to an immediate return to the second tier. And they’ll be keen to bring in Rohl to replace current boss Ivan Juric.
Many Wednesday ers will be hoping Rohl does stay at the helm. But if the worst happen, fans have been quick to identify who they’d like to be their ideal Rohl replacement for 2025/26.
Let’s just say that Danny Röhl has left at the end of the season…

Danny Rohl Replacements Listed By Sheffield Wednesday Fans
This week on social media, Sheffield Wednesday fans have been quick to name their ideal Danny Rohl replacements. And there is one candidate who appears to be a firm favourite.
On the The Wednesday ’til I Die podcast via X (formerly Twitter), they posed the question of who they would like to see fill the void left by Rohl.
Former Premier League star and England international Chris Powell earned the most responses. The 55-year-old is currently the assistant coach at Hillsborough.
“Chris Powell, he knows what Rohl has introduced and can use his own experiences, unless he goes with Rohl,” said one er.
Two people were keen on the idea of Powell teaming up with Barry Bannan to form either a dual managerial role or have Bannan as the No 2.
Henrik Pederson was also mooted by ers. One said: “Henrik Pederson, we need to continue the journey. There’s no point wasting a season and a half developing an identity to start all over again.”
Another suggested: “Try and persuade Pederson to stay on with Powell as his assistant, would be ideal, but doubt would happen.”
Elsewhere, other names mentioned on the thread include Paul Warne, Ryan Lowe, Steve Cooper and current Luton Town boss Matt Bloomfield.
