‘It’s a Stressful Situation for Him’ – Dani Olmo’s Agent Discusses Spaniard’s Future at Barcelona Amid Registration Uncertainty

Barcelona star Dani Olmo’s agent, Andy Bara, has offered more clarity about his client’s future amid the chaos surrounding his registration. Bara said that while it had been stressful for the 2024 European Champion, he was only thinking about continuing with the Blaugrana.
Barcelona paid a handsome €55 million (£45.6 million) fee to sign Olmo from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in the summer of 2024, tying him down to a six-year contract. Olmo officially became a Barca player, but the club could not add him to their roster, having exceeded their wage cap. La Liga ultimately allowed Barcelona to him temporarily, allowing them to find a solution within the 31st of December.
Barcelona explored many avenues but they could not find the funds inside the 31st, leading to Olmo’s de-registration. As things stand, Olmo is no longer on Barcelona’s roster and cannot play for them until the problem is fixed.
Andy Bara Says Dani Olmo Has Been Stressed About His Barcelona Registration
Speaking with journalist Fabrizio Romano on Friday, 3rd January, Bara revealed what his client’s stance was after Barcelona failed to him.
He said (via GiveMeSport):
“We are confident that Barcelona will find a solution.
“Other options or clubs? Barcelona is the first and last option, It may seem strange, but I believe in President Laporta, in Deco and that they will find a solution for Dani. It is a huge club.”

Bara continued:
“We are not negotiating with any club. Dani is a Barça player and wants to be one, he made a great effort in his life to be at Barcelona. It was his wish for a long time. Dani, his father, his family, me… We are not thinking about other options.”
“It’s a stressful situation for him, as it would be for any other player… but he’s a great player and person, he’s trying to stay calm.”
According to reports, there is a clause in Olmo’s contract that will allow him to another club as a free agent in case Barcelona fail to him. Moving as a free agent will also allow Olmo to earn a lot more.
“Big money in case of free transfer? Of course the best deals are when players are free… But the emotions also matter,” added Bara.
“We never made any career decision for money. Dani plays football as he loves the game, he did massive effort to be at Barça. I’m also happy to have Dani at Barça, one of the best players in the world at one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
Olmo has played 15 games for Barca in all competitions this season, scoring six times.
