British boxing star Chris Eubank Jr and promoter Frank Warren have reached an amicable settlement after Warren launched a defamation case against Eubank.

Warren, 73, opened legal proceedings against Eubank after comments made at a press conference last year.

But following the release of this t statement, it appears the two sides have resolved their differences.

Eubank Jr, 35, is the son of former WBO middleweight champion Chris Eubank Sr.

The younger Eubank beat rival Conor Benn at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in one of the best fights in recent British boxing history.

Despite winning the bout, Eubank Jr spent two days in hospital and required surgery on an eye injury sustained during the fight.

But while he has been enjoying success in the ring, Eubank has also had to deal with a fight of a different nature, one that now appears to be over.

Chris Eubank Jr and Frank Warren Settle Dispute

In a statement shared by Ring Magazine via social media, Eubank Jr and Frank Warren have reportedly settled their differences.

The statement read: “Frank Warren and Chris Eubank Jr confirm that the defamation proceedings against Chris Eubank Jr have been settled amicably.

“With these proceedings now settled, both Frank Warren and Chris Eubank Jr look forward to a positive, professional relationship in the future.”

Why Did Frank Warren Sue Chris Eubank Jr?

Frank Warren’s decision to take legal action against Chris Eubank Jr came after the middleweight boxer said Warren had been “lying and cheating his way through boxing” in an angry interview.

Queensbury promoter Warren has managed some of the top names in boxing throughout a decades-long career.

These include Tyson Fury, Frank Bruno and Amir Khan, as well as Eubank’s father Chris Sr.

But in a press conference ahead of Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol’s bout in October – for which Eubank Jr was on the undercard – Eubank unleashed a shocking rant.

Frank Warren began legal proceedings against Eubank Jr in December.

When asked about his decision to sign for Ben Shalom’s BOXXER promotions, Eubank Jr lashed out at other promoters, including Warren.

He said: “Why BOXXER? Because every other promoter out here is a scumbag.

“We’ve got Frank Warren behind me, he has been lying and cheating his way through boxing for the last couple of decades.

“He [Warren] sued me for a couple of hundred thousand a few years ago so obviously I’d never go with him. Scumbag.

As a result, Warren began legal proceeding on 23 December, accusing Eubank Jr of defamation.
