Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, welcomes his former side Leicester to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday and you can find a preview, prediction, the team news and predicted lineups below.

Chelsea vs Leicester Preview

Chelsea secured a narrow victory in the Europa Conference league round of 16 opening leg in their most recent match – beating FC Copenhagen 2-1 away from home.

However, the Blues have struggled to find form in the Premier League in recent weeks, winning just three of their last 11 matches in the Premier League.

In the early stages of the 2024/25 campaign, Chelsea were tipped to be in a title race after a run of eight matches without defeat.

This form appeared to just be a purple patch however, as the Blues now find themselves in fifth place and 21 points behind table-topping Liverpool.

Being 21 points away from first is a luxury compared to their opponents, as Leicester currently sit 19th in the Premier League and five points away from safety.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s tenure as Leicester City manager has not brought the improvement that Foxes fans were hoping for, as the Dutchman has been in charge for 14 league games and lost 11.

To make matters worse, Leicester have failed to score a goal in their last four league matches and have only found the back of the net twice in their last seven fixtures.

These two sides have already met this season, as Enzo Maresca picked up a 2-1 win on his return to the King Power Stadium.

Chelsea vs Leicester Team News

Enzo Maresca has been handed a list of injury concerns in recent weeks, as Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu, Romeo Lavia and Noni Madueke continue to be sidelined.

The Blues are still without Mykhailo Mudryk, as the Ukrainian continues to be investigated for possibly doping breaches.

As for Leicester, Isshaku Fatawu, Nathaniel Opoku, Ricardo Pereira and Harry Souttar will all mmiss the match with long-term injuries.

Ruud van Nistelrooy may be looking to switch his starting lineup around after a run of poor results and Stephy Mavididi may be handed a rare start under the Dutchman.

Chelsea vs Leicester Predicted Lineups

Chelsea: Jørgensen; Cucurella, Colwill, Adarabioyo, Gusto; Caicedo, Fernández; Nkunku, Palmer, Sancho; Neto.

Leicester: Hermansen; Kristiansen, Faes, Okoli, Justin; Soumare, Ndidi; Mavididi, El Khannouss, Ayew; Vardy.

Chelsea vs Leicester Prediction

Enzo Maresca’s side are heavy favourites on UK betting sites, which is probably due to Leicester’s horrendous run of form in the Premier League.

We have to agree with the bookmakers on this one, as Chelsea should earn a comfortable three points on Sunday afternoon and pick up a clean sheet along the way,

Prediction: Chelsea 3-0 Leicester
