Mainoo, is widely expected among fans to be an important player for many years to come.
However, the Chelsea are leading the race to sign Mainoo.
They claim that Mainoo has reached a stalemate over a new contract with the club. The 19-year-old still has two-and-a-half years left on his current deal.

The teenager made his first Premier League appearance in February 2023 during a 3-0 win over Leicester.
After missing the start of last season with injury, he made his outing in a 3-0 victory over Everton in November.
For the remainder of the 2023-24 season he was a regular starter. His performances led to him being called up for England by Gareth Southgate just in time for Euro 2024.
He wasn’t in the starting XI at the start of Euro 2024. However, he was given his chance after both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Conor Gallagher failed to impress in midfield.
Mainoo scored five goals in all competitions last season. This included in Manchester United’s 2-1 FA Cup final victory over local rivals Man City.
This season his form has not been so impressive given United’s struggles in the lower-half of the table. But the 2-2 draw with Liverpool showed that Mainoo is still an important player for the Red Devils.
