Ahead of Tuesday’s EFL Championship clash, we have the Cardiff vs Burnley preview, prediction, team news and predicted lineups.

Cardiff Vs Burnley Preview

After their FA Cup fifth round defeat on Friday, Cardiff can resume all of their efforts towards EFL Championship survival.

Marco Asensio scored both goals as Premier League side Aston Villa cruised past the Bluebirds at Villa Park. Omer Riza’s side were never really in the races and faced an incredible 25 shots on goal.

Nonetheless, Riza led his troops to a fine 1-0 win against Hull in the last league outing. Callum Robinson’s strike proved the difference in a tight affair.

Interestingly, the Welsh side only had 33% possession but restricted the Tigers to just a single shot on target. As it stands, five points separate City from the bottom three.

Despite their lowly position of 20th, Cardiff have only lost twice in their last 12 Championship games. Both defeats came in February which included a 7-0 pasting against Leeds.

Similar to Tuesday’s opponents, Burnley are still licking their wounds after a crushing FA Cup defeat to neighbours Preston on Saturday afternoon.

Manager Scott Parker made various changes to his starting XI at Deepdale and perhaps the most notable was goalkeeper James Trafford given a well-earned break.

That resulted in the Clarets shipping an unprecedented three goals. Nonetheless, the Lancashire side hasn’t conceded in the EFL Championship since December 21.

In the reverse fixture at Turf Moor, Parker’s men thrashed the Bluebirds 5-0. Josh Brownhill was amongst the scorers that afternoon with the midfielder available on a free transfer this summer.

Ahead of the match, the best football betting sites in the UK price Burnley as the 96/100 favourites. Cardiff can be backed at 7/2 with the draw 12/5.

Cardiff Vs Burnley Team News

Jesper Daland, Ollie Tanner, David Turnbull and goalkeeper Jak Alnwick are ruled out with injury for Cardiff. Defender Dimitrios Goutas also misses out through suspension.

William Fish and Perry Ng will likely start in the centre of defence. Former Arsenal and Aston Villa man Calum Chambers should start in midfield for Omer Riza’s men.

Meanwhile, Burnley will be missing Enock Agyei, Mike Tresor and Nathan Redmond and most likely Aaron Ramsey. The latter is still recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.

Zian Flemming will lead the line and he could be ed by a trio of Marcus Edwards, Hannibal Mejbri and Jaidon Anthony at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Cardiff Vs Burnley Predicted Lineups

Cardiff (4-2-3-1): Horvath; Rinomhota, Fish, Ng, O’Dowda; Mannsverk, Chambers; Willock, Robinson, Ashford; Salech

Burnley (4-2-3-1): Trafford; Roberts, Egan-Riley, Esteve, Pires; Laurent, Cullen; Edwards, Mejbri, Anthony; Flemming

Cardiff Vs Burnley Prediction

Cardiff have just two defeats to their name in 12 and Burnley simply don’t concede goals in the EFL Championship. With the latter in mind, we are predicting that incredible feat to continue in Wales.

The Bluebirds won’t be no pushovers but we do fancy the Clarets to enhance their automatic promotion chances.

Prediction: Cardiff 0-1 Burnley
