Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes says he is open to leaving Old Trafford if his next club make United an offer they feel is too lucrative to refuse.

Bruno Fernandes wore the armband for United as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League final on Wednesday.

In a game low on quality from either side, Brennan Johnson’s scrappy first-half goal proved the difference, ending Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought.

But while the Tottenham trophy parade is scheduled for Friday afternoon, the result added further damage to United’s dreadful campaign.

Ruben Amorim’s side are heading for their worst-ever Premier League finish, and skipper Fernandes has suggested he would be open to leaving the club.

Bruno Fernandes Will Leave If Next Club Offers United Too Much To Refuse

With United missing out on Europa League victory, they have also lost an estimated £100 million in earnings after failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

For this reason, Bruno Fernandes has said he would be willing to leave Old Trafford if a club made an offer that meant United felt they needed to cash in on the Portuguese midfielder.

Speaking after the final defeat, he said: “I have always been honest.

“If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it’s what it is.

“Football sometimes is like this. I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go.

Bruno Fernandes has been one of United’s best players since arriving from Sporting in January 2020.

“I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club to the great days. The day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it.

“But I’ve always said it, and I keep my word in the same way.”

“It’s very sad. We wanted to win this final more than anything,” he added.

“It’s a very sad day because we’ve done some very good things in this competition until today.

Will Bruno Fernandes’ Next Club Be In Saudi Arabia?

When a player of Fernandes’ calibre speaks openly about moving, there are naturally countless clubs he could go to.

But perhaps the most concrete interest appears to be from the Saudi Pro League.

Reports have suggested that reigning Saudi champions Al-Hilal are among the favourites to become Bruno Fernandes’ next club.

The spending power of Saudi clubs is well known, meaning any number of teams in that league could afford to make a huge offer.

Bruno Fernandes has attracted significant interest from the Saudi Pro League.

But the quality of the Saudi League remains questionable. For that reason, Fernandes may wish to remain in a top European division.

Recently voted United’s player of the season for the fourth time, there are some big clubs who are thought to hold an interest.

Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also reported to be keen, while French super-club Paris Saint-Germain are an outside bet.

Bruno Fernandes Stats At United Will Justify A Huge Transfer Fee

Since arriving at Old Trafford in January 2020, Bruno Fernandes has consistently been superb for United, despite playing in an often woeful team.

The Portuguese has made 359 total appearances for the Red Devils in five years.

In that time, he has scored 130 goals and ed 110 assists.

That translates to him having a direct goal involvement every 0.66 games, or two in every three appearances.

Sixteen of those goals have been in the Europa League. Added to the 11 he scored while at Sporting, he is among the Europa League’s top 10 scorers in competition history.

Those numbers are incredibly impressive over a five year period, especially given how badly United have played throughout most of his time at the club.
