On Tuesday night, two high-flyers meet in an intriguing clash at the Amex Stadium. Scroll down for our Brighton vs Bournemouth preview, prediction, team news and confirmed lineups.

Brighton Vs Bournemouth Preview

Brighton will be brimming with confidence after their 4-0 demolition over Southampton in gameweek 26. The Seagulls were in lethal form at St Mary’s. If truth be told, just the four goals flattered the Saints.

Joao Pedro, Georginio Rutter, Kaoru Mitoma and Jack Hinshelwood all netted on the South Coast. More notably, Fabian Hurzeler’s side created 10 big chances with 15 shots attempted inside the box.

Last time out at the Amex, Hurzeler oversaw a brilliant 3-0 victory over Chelsea. The Valentine’s Day Massacre provided the perfect response after Nottingham Forest hit them for seven on February 1.

As it stands, Brighton are perched in ninth position in the Premier League table and are just four points off a European spot. A third win on the bounce will really put them in the mix.

Bournemouth will be aiming to show their bouncebackability after a surprise 1-0 defeat to Wolves on gameweek 26. Illya Zabarnyi saw red in the first-half before Matheus Cunha netted five minutes later.

The Cherries struggled owing to their disadvantage and were unable to force an equaliser. Newcastle‘s victory on Sunday means they leapfrogged Andoni Iraola’s side into fifth spot.

Nonetheless, the South Coast side can regain a European berth with a win at the Amex. The only top-flight win at the home of Brighton came in 2019.

Dan Gosling, Ryan Fraser, David Brooks, Callum Wilson and Junior Stanislas were all on target in a fine 5-0 victory. Since then, Iraola’s side have lost on their last three visits and only scored once.

Ahead of the match, the best football betting sites in the UK price the Seagulls as the 23/20 favourites. Bournemouth can be backed at 23/10 with the draw 14/5.

Brighton Vs Bournemouth Team News

James Milner, Lewis Dunk, Igor, Ferdi Kadioglu and Jason Steele will all be missing for Brighton. Adam Webster – who made his 150th Seagulls appearance on Saturday – is set to start at centre-back.

In defensive midfield, Carlos Baleba resumes his role after a solid showing against basement dwellers Southampton.

St Mary’s goalscorers Georginio Rutter, Kaoru Mitoma and Joao Pedro are all poised to start. So to will Gambia international Yankuba Minteh.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth will be without Illia Zabarnyi. The Ukrainian star will have to sit on the naughty step owing to his dismissal against Wolves.

Marcos Senesi, Adam Smith and Julian Araujo are also missing owing to injury. Therefore, James Hill is set for his seventh Premier League appearance of the season.

Once again, Evanilson and Enes Unal will be absent up top. Dango Ouattara is set to lead the line with Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo and David Brooks starting just behind the Burkina Faso star.

Brighton Vs Bournemouth Confirmed Lineups

Brighton (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen; Lamptey, Webster, Van Hecke, Estupinan; Baleba, Gomez; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Pedro

Bournemouth (4-2-3-1): Arrizabalaga; Hill, Cook, Huijsen, Kerkez; Adams, Christie; Brooks, Kluivert, Semenyo; Ouattara

Brighton Vs Bournemouth Prediction

Naturally, Brighton will be confident of keeping up their recent good form at home to Bournemouth. However, we are predicting the Cherries to leave the Amex with a point.

Assuming they keep all eleven players on the pitch that is. Expect a tight and cagey affair whereby both defences will come out on top.

Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Bournemouth
