Holly Shand Reviews The Five Best Value FPL Players From The 2024-25 Season

FPL expert Holly Shand is back with her end-of-season review of the five best value FPL players from the 2024-25 season.
As the dust settles on the 2024/25 FPL season, it’s time to reflect on the best value fantasy players of the season.
From their initial starting price, who were the best value players by points per million?
The Best Value FPL Players In 2024-25
Bryan Mbeumo (33.7ppm)
The best player of the season in of value was Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, beating the likes of Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka in the race for FPL points, finishing the campaign on 236 points, second only to Mohamed Salah.
He provided great consistency, with 29 goal involvements in 38 appearances: 20 goals and nine assists.
He started the campaign priced at just £7.0 million, rising to £8.3 million by the end of the season, where he featured in almost half of teams. He’s rumoured to be moving away in the summer transfer window.
Matz Sels (33.3ppm)
Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels finished the campaign as the second-highest scoring goalkeeper on 150 points, tying for the Golden Glove with Arsenal’s David Raya, on 13 clean sheets.
Early backers at £4.5 million were richly rewarded with consistent returns and I personally regret not investing.
His side’s improved form, which saw them qualify for European football ahead of 2025/26, saw Sels make a mockery of that cheap price tag, though his ownership barely crossed 20% at his peak.
He’s one of three Forest players here, but could struggle next season with midweek Conference League games.
Chris Wood (33.3ppm)
Continuing the trend of Nottingham Forest players, Chris Wood was the best value forward in the game, despite his season run-in being hampered by injury.
The striker scored 20 goals this season, vastly improving on his previous best tally in the Premier League of 14 goals.
Crucially, Wood played the most minutes he’s ever managed in a single top-flight season, finishing the campaign on 200 points.
He was one of the big successes on my Gameweek 6 wildcard, rewarding me with five goals in his first five games. I held him until his injury in the final international break.
Morgan Rogers (32.2ppm)
Speaking of my Gameweek 6 wildcard, Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was another vital inclusion.
He proved his worth over the course of the season and a player I ended up holding right until the end of the season.
He inflicted pain, with plenty of points left on the bench when he served as the first substitute.
His starting price tag of £5.0 million seems remarkable in hindsight.
He started 37 games for the club, missing just one through suspension, contributing eight goals and 11 assists in this time.
He could be set for pastures new this summer after his breakout season.
Nikola Milenkovic (32.2ppm)
Nottingham Forest centre-back Nikola Milenkovic is the value defender of the season.
He finished third for fantasy points among defenders, narrowly behind Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, despite starting the season priced at just £4.5 million.
The consistency of clean sheets certainly helped him reach 145 points, but he also earned plenty of attacking returns too, with five goals and two assists.
Goals from set pieces were particularly important for his side this season, where he constantly provided an aerial threat in the box.
