The Best Champions League Final Goals Ever As PSG And Inter Prepare For UCL Showdown

With anticipation building ahead of this year’s final, we’re taking a look at the best Champions League final goals ever scored.
This weekend, Paris Saint-Germain take on Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena in Munich in one of the most watched sporting events in the world.
Both sides will be desperate to secure a victory and lift the biggest prize in club football.
For PSG, it would be their long-awaited maiden triumph in the competition. Inter, meanwhile, are looking for their fourth Champions League final victory.
The Nerazzurri last won the UCL back in 2010, as Jose Mourinho guided them to a 2-0 victory against Bayern Munich.
While neither Inter nor PSG will care about anything besides winning, the Champions League final often throws up some all-time classic matches.
To celebrate some of these memorable moments, we at SportsCasting are taking a look at the best Champions League final goals ever.

The Best Champions League Final Goals Ever
Some of the best goals in Champions League history have come when it mattered most.
From long-range thunderbolts to acrobatic miracles, the final has delivered countless breathtaking scores.
We’re sure there will be plenty of incredible goals we’ve missed off this list, but these are our picks for the top five.
5. Lars Ricken Vs Juventus (1997)
Super sub ✅ Super goal ✅

In the 1997 Champions League final, local hero Lars Ricken came off the bench for Dortmund as they led Juventus 2-1.
He scored with his first touch of the game, just 16 seconds after coming on.
Racing onto a perfect ball from Andreas Möller, he hit a beautifully lofted strike over Angelo Peruzzi from well outside the box.
4. Dejan Savićević Vs Barcelona (1994)
Another classic from the ’90s, AC Milan’s stunning 4-0 victory against Barcelona was a huge shock in 1994.
And the best goal of them all on that night in Athens was from Dejan Savićević.
After winning a duel and nicking the ball off Sergi Barjuán on the right flank, he sent a dipping strike into the far corner to catch Barca keeper Andoni Zubizarreta off his line.
A magnificent finish.
3. Zinedine Zidane Vs Bayer Leverkusen (2002)
One of the greatest to ever do it, and quite probably the best central midfielder ever, Zidane was incredible.
The Frenchman was twice a beaten finalist at Juventus, but won the Champions League at Real Madrid in 2002.
His incredible left-footed volley secured Real a 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen at Hampden Park.
Zidane went on to win an incredible UCL three-peat with Madrid as a coach, but his performances on the pitch were just as special.
2. Mario Mandzukic Vs Real Madrid (2017)
Croatian legend Mario Mandžukić was known for popping up with a goal in big games.
His acrobatic finish in the 2017 Champions League final has been described by some as the best ever in a final.
We have put it in second place, but it was a very tight call. Mandžukić brought the ball down with his chest before volleying past Keylor Navas in stunning fashion.
Unfortunately for Mandžukić and Juve, his would be their only goal, with the side losing 4-1 on the night.
1. Gareth Bale Vs Liverpool (2018)
Saving the best until last, who else could it really be?
Gareth Bale’s breathtaking overhead kick in the 2018 Champions League final immortalised the Welshman in football folklore.
The power he generated while upside down was simply incredible. Watching the ball fly into the top corner from such long range for a bicycle kick was one of those ‘where were you?’ moments.
And for that reason, it takes top spot on our list of the best Champions League final goals ever.
When Is The Champions League Final?
We’re hopeful that our list will have a new addition ofter the 2025 final.
Failing that, our fingers are crossed that it will could be one of the knockout ties with the most goals in history, and go down as a classic.
PSG and Inter will lock horns this Saturday, 31 May. Kickoff is at 20:00 BST if you’re watching in the UK.
For those heading to Munich to watch the game live, it’s a 21:00 kick off local time.
