The latest Ben Chilwell news via Enzo Maresca suggests the defender could be set for a return to Chelsea’s group training.

Chilwell was told he had no future with the Blues by the Italian boss earlier this summer. However, he didn’t move on from the club in the transfer window.

Now, the England defender looks set to be reintroduced to the first team set up. Furthermore, Chilwell is likely to be included in the Blues 25-man squad for the remainder of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

He will be one of eight homegrown players named by Maresca named on Friday (September 13). Others will include the likes of Cole Palmer and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Ben Chilwell News Likely To Please Chelsea ers

The Ben Chilwell news of his expected reinstatement is set to go down well with Chelsea fans. In fact, many Blues fans shared their delight on X, formerly Twitter, about his return.

Boss Enzo Maresca explained that the door is very much ‘open’ for Chilwell. Prior to their trip to Bournemouth on gameweek 4, the Italian said: “Ben is just about the only one [of players the club wanted to loan or sell] still here. We are going to sit with him and find a solution.

“He’s probably going to be back with us in training, because he’s doing that at the moment. He was training apart because the idea was for him to leave, but probably now he’s going to start training with us.”

It remains to be seen if Chilwell will force himself back into the starting XI at Stamford Bridge. Injuries have seriously hampered his progress since making the switch to west London from Leicester in 2020.

In his four full seasons with the club, Chilwell has made just 70 Premier League appearances. Ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Cherries, the best football betting sites in the UK make Maresca’s side the 21/20 favourites.
