Fresh off a hard-fought win in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, Barcelona will look to extend their triumphant run when they host CA Osasuna at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in La Liga on Saturday, 8 March.

The Blaugrana are the only team across the top five European leagues to avoid defeat in 2025. Osasuna, meanwhile, are searching for their first win since the 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad at the start of February.

Barcelona vs CA Osasuna: Preview

Barcelona

Hansi Flick’s Barcelona worked harder than expected in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash with Benfica on Wednesday, 5 March. With Pau Cubarsi seeing a straight red in the 22nd minute, the Catalans had to withstand Benfica’s relentless onslaught in Lisbon.

Fortunately, Barca goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny was at the top of his game and stopped everything the hosts threw at him. Then, in the second half, in-form winger Raphinha scored a fine goal from outside the box to seal a 1-0 win. It extended Barca’s unbeaten streak to 16 games in all competitions (13 W, 3 D).

Barcelona also came out on top in their previous La Liga outing, claiming a comfortable 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad. Gerard Martin, Marc Casado, Ronald Araujo, and Robert Lewandowski scored, allowing Barcelona to claim the top spot in La Liga rankings.

CA Osasuna

Unlike Barcelona, Osasuna have been having a hard time getting points on the board. Vicente Moreno’s side are winless in their last five games in all competitions, suffering two losses and playing out three draws.

In their last outing, they played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Valencia, conceding in the 87th minute to drop two invaluable points. Their recent run of disappointing results has left them in 11th place in the La Liga rankings with 33 points. Table toppers Barcelona are sitting a whopping 24 points ahead.

Osasuna exceeded expectations in their previous meeting with Barcelona, claiming a famous win. However, considering the gulf in quality between the two sides at the moment, we are not expecting another miracle this weekend.
