Arsenal suffered a huge blow to their title ambitions as they fell to a 1-0 defeat on home soil to West Ham thanks to Jarrod Bowen’s first-half goal and you can find our player ratings below.

Arsenal vs West Ham Player Ratings

Arsenal Ratings

David Raya –5

Was needlessly miles off his line when Myles Lewis-Skelly brought down Mohamed Kudus which played a factor in the West Ham attacker a goalscoring opportunity.

Jurrien Timber – 6

Didn’t put a foot wrong defensively but Mikel Arteta would have liked to see more of him going forward. Will likely be shifted to left-back with the return of Ben White.

William Saliba – 6

Did his defensive duties well enough but was slow on the ball and fell short of his usual high standards.

Gabriel – 6

Perhaps could have shown more awareness with West Ham’s winning goal as Jarrod Bowen charged into the box. Also missed a huge chance to score and earn the Gunners a vital point.

Riccardo Calafiori – 4

Gave Aaron Wan-Bissaka far too much respect with the space he gave the West Ham man to put in his cross for Jarrod Bowen’s goal. Was taken off 10 minutes into the second-half.

Martin Odegaard – 6

Some nice es but lacked an end product in the final third and gave the ball away on several occasions.

Thomas Partey – 7

Always an engine at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield and put in an energetic display despite falling on the losing side.

Declan Rice – 4

Disappointing day for the former West Ham captain in of his player rating. Didn’t make an impact and lost Jarrod Bowen as his former teammate’s smart movement led to him heading in the opener.

Ethan Nwaneri – 6

It was a difficult day for the talented 17-year-old who struggled to make an influence on the match and limped off the pitch late on.

Mikel Merino – 5

Was excellent up front in Arsenal’s victory over Leicester. Against West Ham he looked like a fish out of water but it’s hard to be too critical playing out of position and with very little service.

Leandro Trossard – 6

Did his best to make things happen and forced a great save from Alphonse Areola before having another effort late on.

Substitutes

Oleksandr Zinchenko (On for Declan Rice 56′) – 5

Myles Lewis-Skelly (On for Riccardo Calafiori 56′) Was on the pitch for just 17 minutes when he was sent off for his challenge on Mohamed Kudus which was deemed to deny the West Ham man a goalscoring opportunity. – 3

Raheem Sterling (On for Ethan Nwaneri  81′) – N/A

Ben White (On For William Saliba 86′) – N/A

West Ham Ratings

Alphonse Areola – 6

The West Ham goalkeeper didn’t have much to do across the 90 minutes but was alert when called upon including a smart save with his feet from Leandro Trossard.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 8

Showed boundless energy down the right-flank for West Ham and got the better of Riccardo Calafiori to put in the assist for Jarrod Bowen.

Jean-Clair Todibo – 7

Put in a strong defensive display for West Ham in his first league start since early January. His only blemish was a yellow card just after the hour mark which led to him being replaced less than a minute later.

Max Kilman – 7

Very assured in defence and dealt with the aerial threat posed by Mikel Merino comfortably.

Aaron Cresswell – 7

Produced a solid defensive display and was unlucky not to have an assist after he put the ball on a plate for Jarrod Bowen who couldn’t quite get on the end of it.

Oliver Scarles – 8

The 19-year-old put in possibly his best performance for West Ham as he limited the threat of Ethan Nwaneri and put in some strong tackles to stop potential dangerous attacks from Arsenal.

Tomas Soucek – 5

West Ham’s weakest performer in of player ratings as he gave the ball away on multiple occasions and struggled to match Arsenal’s midfield at times during the match.

James Ward-Prowse – 6

Solid performance from the experienced midfielder. Kept it simple in possession but began to tire as the match went on.

Edson Alvarez – 7

Gave everything he had for West Ham showing boundless energy and winning some important free-kicks.

Jarrod Bowen  – 8

Scored his 50th Premier League goal for West Ham to give them a huge victory on the road and put a huge blow in Arsenal’s title chances.

Mohammed Kudus – 7

Lively up front for West Ham throughout the game, winning the free-kick which saw Myles Lewis-Skelly get sent off but perhaps should have scored in the second-half to kill the game off.
