Arsenal Star Branded As The ‘Flop Of The Season’: “He’s Been A Massive Disappointment”

Arsenal’s summer g Raheem Sterling is the Premier League’s ‘flop of the season’, according to former Liverpool star Stan Collymore.
Sterling completed a shock loan move from Chelsea to the Gunners on deadline day. The 29-year-old was banished by Blues manager Enzo Maresca, which saw Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta take a punt on the winger.
However, the first few months at the Emirates have been underwhelming to say the least. With just one goal in the Carabao Cup, the England international has struggled to play any meaningful football.
As a result, Arsenal winger Sterling has caught flak from, not one, but two Liverpool greats.
Stan Collymore: Raheem Sterling Is The Premier League’s ‘Flop Of The Season’
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has brutally claimed that Raheem Sterling has ‘stunk out the place’ since arriving on loan at Arsenal.
“Raheem Sterling has been a massive disappointment,” Collymore told Metro. “He came in and said he was going to give the club his best work, but that hasn’t happened.
“He’s arguably stunk the place out so far and he’s definitely one of the flops of the season having promised to do his best work at Arsenal.
“He’s an experienced player who has won everything there is to win, he was expected to push the dressing room up another level and he hasn’t done that.”

Steve Nicol Also Heavily Critical Of Raheem Sterling
Like Collymore, Liverpool great Steve Nicol has also been critical of Raheem Sterling.
“Let’s be honest, what has he done? He’s done zero,” Nicol said on ESPNFC.
“I mean, at the very least, come on and give Martinelli and Saka on the other side a break and push the rest of the players to be better.
“I mean, just all the things, all the reasons that he was brought.
“You know, use your experience, push the other two to be better, giving them competition, and then when you do get a chance, make it count.
“I mean, he’s done nothing, absolutely zero. (I expected) more than zero, I expected more than nothing at all, absolutely.
“Okay call me crazy, but if you sign somebody and they do nothing, that’s not good.”
Raheem Sterling Struggling To Shine
Raheem Sterling set out to prove his doubters wrong after leaving Chelsea on deadline day. However, the winger has struggled to make any meaningful impact.
Sterling as started just two Premier League games and made two more appearances from the bench. In total, he just has 123 minutes of action to his name. While Sterling scored a goal in Arsenal’s 5-1 Carabao Cup win over League One side Bolton Wanderers, he is yet to contribute in the Premier League.
There is still plenty of time to turn things around for Sterling. But his underwhelming start is already attracting plenty of harsh criticism.
