Arsenal Suffer Another Injury Blow as Ethan Nwaneri Faces Weeks on Sidelines

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that teenage sensation Ethan Nwaneri will miss several weeks due to a muscular injury, adding to the Gunners’ growing injury concerns.
Nwaneri was forced off at halftime during Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Brighton after scoring the opening goal, a performance that highlighted his promising potential.
Arteta Confirms “Bad News” on Nwaneri Injury
Speaking after the game, Arteta described the situation as “bad news” and provided further updates on Monday.
“Unfortunately, he’s picked up an injury, and he’s going to be out for a few weeks. It’s a muscular injury,” Arteta confirmed.
The injury comes as a significant setback for Arsenal, who are already navigating a challenging period without several key players.
Arsenal’s Mounting Injury Concerns
The loss of Nwaneri compounds Arsenal’s existing fitness issues. Bukayo Saka remains sidelined for several months with a hamstring injury, while Raheem Sterling is out with a knee problem.
Nwaneri had been stepping up impressively in Saka’s absence, delivering strong performances in back-to-back starts against Brentford and Brighton.
However, Arteta must now look for alternative solutions as he aims to maintain Arsenal’s form across multiple competitions.
Adding to Arsenal’s woes, Kai Havertz missed the Brighton clash and the prior victory over Brentford due to illness. Martin Odegaard was also only fit enough for the bench at Brighton, affected by the same illness that has impacted several players in the squad.
Havertz Update Ahead of Newcastle Clash
Ahead of Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Newcastle on Tuesday, Arteta expressed cautious optimism about Havertz’s availability.
“I hope so, but I don’t want to say yes because last time I said I thought he was going to be fit, and he was not,” Arteta explained.
The potential return of Havertz would provide a much-needed boost for Arsenal in attack, particularly as they navigate a critical period in their season.
