Thomas Partey and Yoane Wissa were on target as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford at the Emirates on Saturday, and you can watch the full match highlights below.

Wissa Strike Seals Point For The Bees

Still buzzing off of their 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals in midweek, Arsenal welcomed Brentford to the Emirates for their Gameweek 32 fixture on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s side headed into the tie 11 points behind leaders Liverpool in second place, while the Bees were down in 12th place, having won just one of their previous five matches in the English top-flight.

The Gunners were on top in the first period and thought they’d taken the lead through Kieran Tierney, who was making his first league start of the campaign, however the Scotsman was deemed offside after a VAR check.

15 minutes into the second half, after a wonderful counterattack led by Declan Rice, the North Londoners scored again, but this time the goal was given. Rice’s darting run through the middle of the park put the hosts in prime position to open the scoring, with Thomas Partey rounding off the move with a powerful finish beyond Mark Flekken.

Brentford weren’t going to go down without a fight though, and in the 74th minute, they drew level. A dinked cross by Michael Kayode found Nathan Collins at the far post, who headed the ball back into the danger area, where Yoane Wissa was waiting. On the turn, the Congolese forward expertly converted his 15th league goal of the season.

Arsenal were unable to provide a response and were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw. It leaves them 10 points adrift of Liverpool, who have a game in hand, as Thomas Frank’s side climb up to 11th, two points outside the top half.

Up next for the Gunners is a return to continental action, where they take on Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie before returning to domestic play against Ipswich next Sunday.

The Bees are back in action next Saturday when they welcome Brighton to the Gtech Community Stadium, and following that, they head to the City Ground to face off against Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 34.
