Arne Slot was shown a red card after Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby, but what effect does it have on the Assistant Manager chip in FPL?

Wednesday evening’s last-ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park descended into chaos following the full-time whistle, as Liverpool’s Arne Slot and Curtis Jones and Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure were all shown red cards.

Jones and Doucoure were both punished in FPL for their dismissals, with their initial points tallies from the match being deducted by three points, but how does it affect Slot and the new Assistant Manager chip?

Arne Slot Red Card: Does It Affect Assistant Manager In FPL?

In short, no, it doesn’t affect Slot’s returns as your Assistant Manager in Fantasy Premier League – a sentence I’m sure those that have selected the Dutchman will be eternally grateful to hear.

This means that, thanks to the Reds’ win over Bournemouth at the start of the month and the 2-2 draw against the Toffees, the former Feyenoord boss amassed a total of 15 points in Double Gameweek 24.

Looking forward, Slot has been slapped with a two-match ban for Sunday’s home game against Wolves and next Wednesday’s away trip to Aston Villa, but this doesn’t affect the Assistant Manager chip either.

The chip was designed so that players can accumulate points based on the team’s results, not based on the manager’s actions, therefore Slot will still return points from these fixtures despite not actually being in the dugout.

How Does The ‘Assistant Manager’ Chip Earn Points In FPL?

  • Team win: 6 points
  • Team draw: 3 points
  • Goals scored: 1 point per goal
  • Clean sheet: 2 points
  • Table bonus: Face a team ranked five places or higher, and your manager earns 10 additional points for a win (16 total) or 5 extra points for a draw (8 total).
