Arman Tsarukyan Drops Scathing Remark Towards Justin Gaethje Over Proposed Title Fight

Arman Tsarukyan has made his thoughts over Justin Gaethje fighting Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title very clear.
Arman Tsarukyan Slams Justin Gaethje Over Proposed Title Fight
The Highlight picked up his second win over Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313 after his original bout against Dan Hooker was postponed as Hooker was forced to pull out through injury.
This victory has now put him back in contention for the lightweight title and Dana White has even expressed his interest in making the fight against Makhachev.
However, one man who is not best pleased about this possible arrangement is Arman Tsarukyan, who has been very vocal about Gaethje’s proposed shot at the title.
The Armenian fighter was in line to fight for the LW title at UFC 311 in January this year, however, he was forced to pull out and Makhachev fought Reanto Moicano instead.
Now, Tsarukyan is looking to fight for the title once again but after pulling out a day before the fight, he may not be in Dana White’s good books.
Tsarukyan took to social media to slam the possibility of Gaethje fighting for the 155-pound belt and suggested the two should face off to determine the real No.1 contender.
“You barely got past #11 on short notice, and before that, you got sent to the shadow realm. If you really want to be the #1 contender and fight for the belt, you have to go through me first.”
Another possible candidate for a shot at the LW title is former featherweight champion, Ilia Topuria, who vacated his FW belt to move up and fight Islam Makhachev.
Tsarukyan was asked for a prediction on how a fight between Topuria and Makhachev would go, but the Armenian struggled to select a definite winner.
The Armenian said: “It’s a tough fight. Ilia, he is a better striker, good boxing. I don’t know – he’s never fought with guys who can wrestle very well like Islam, so we will see. It is a 50-50 fight.”
