La Liga giants Atletico Madrid want to sign revitalised Manchester United flop Antony in the wake of his significant improvement on loan at Real Betis.

Antony Transfer News: Atletico Madrid Eye £65m Move For Man United Bust

Antony has enjoyed a new lease of life since making the switch to Spain, tallying four goals and four assists in 13 appearances for loan club Real Betis.

The 25-year-old began with a bang, scoring three and assisting one in his first four outings from the start of February and he’s caught the eye of one of La Liga’s top dogs.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in acquiring the Brazilian’s services this summer, willing to pay up to £65 million including add-ons for his signature.

Since Antony’s arrival, Betis have recorded seven wins, one draw and a loss in the league.

Antony arrived at Old Trafford in 2022 on the back of a tenacious recommendation from Erik ten Hag, the manager who coached him at Ajax – and United ended up forking out £85 million.

During Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign in the years prior the Red Devils had initially valued Antony at £25 million and after a promising 2021/22 season with Ajax, that valuation increased to a maximum of £60 million.

As the summer transfer window came to an end, United had failed to close a deal and out of desperation the 20-time champions of England agreed to pay a significantly higher sum for the winger.

United will be greatly encouraged by Antony’s form in Spain so far and if they can recoup anywhere near £60 million on a permanent sale, they’d bite your hand off for it.

Antony scored 12 goals in 95 games for United and ended up receiving more yellow cards (10) in the Premier League than goal contributions (8).
