Tottenham face Fulham on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League but there is a big star missing from the Spurs squad, with Dominic Solanke sent home ahead of the game.

Dominic Solanke Sent Home

Dominic Solanke was expected to lead the line for Tottenham against Fulham this weekend but after suffering from illness on Sunday, Ange Postecoglou was forced into a late change.

“He came in today and he wasn’t looking the best, just under the weather.” Postecoglou said. “So we just sent him home. Hopefully a full recovery now ahead of the next one.”

The 27-year-old is one of many Spurs stars absent from Sunday’s fixture, with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario all sidelined with knocks making for a much weaker back line.

In Solanke’s place Timo Werner steps into the Spurs starting XI, with the German starting just his fifth Premier League game of the season on Sunday.

There is no doubt that Solanke will be a big miss for Tottenham this weekend as he is one of the club’s top scorers in North London during his first season, with four goals in the Premier League and six in all competitions.

Although he his playing well, Solanke is yet to truly recapture his form from Bournemouth with his new club, but the striker’s performances have still earned him a call-up to the England squad this year after nearly seven years away.

There is midweek Premier League action coming up to add to Tottenham’s woes, but Solanke should be able to return in time for a Thursday night fixture against his former club Bournemouth.

The winter schedule can be tough and with nine games coming up over the next month, Spurs will need their star striker to be fit for a demanding period that could make or break their season.
