Amo Racing Splash $1.1m On Top Lot Girvin Filly at US Fasig-Tipton May Sale

Amo Racing have been splashing the cash again as they’ve bolstered their team by landing the top lot at the Fasig-Tipton May Sale in Maryland, USA – teaming up with Memo Racing to secure a Girvin filly for $1.1m
$1.1m Girvin Filly The First Partnership For Amo and Memo Racing
Lot 368 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale in Timonium in Maryland was the one that most potential buyers had their eye on – but it was Amo Racing, along with Memo Racing, that managed to outbid the rest.
The combo clubbed together to stump-up the massive $1,1000,000 fee that scared the rest off.
This Girvin horse racing purchase is a good-looking dark bay or brown filly.
While Girvin won over $1.6m in his career and won the 2017 Louisiana Derby and Haskell Invitational Stakes.
Bred in Kentucky by Twin Oaks Bloodstock, the filly has also already been bought at public auction twice before – first for $180,000 in 2023 at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale and then later for $240,000 in 2024 and the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
Bloodstock agent Kerri Radcliffe was representing Memo Racing and signed the ticket – said afterwards.
“I know [Amo Racing’s Kia Joorabchian] from home, and I would do a bit of work for Kia,” the Radcliffe said of how the partnership developed. “We chatted and we said, ‘This is the best filly in the sale.’ Memo have only been buying colts, so we needed to get a filly.”
She is out of the winning Broken Vow mare Scarlet Dixie, who raced 22 times – winning three times – and is also related to Dixieland Band, who landed the 1983 Pennsylvania Derby.
