Manchester United star, Amad Diallo, has been ruled out for the remainder of this season after suffering an ankle ligament injury.

Amad Diallo Injury News

The Ivorian reportedly suffered an injury to his ankle during a training session in the lead up to Manchester United’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

Ruben Amorim will be fearing the worst as his United side have relied heavily on the youngster, scoring a vital winner against Manchester City and hat-trick against Southampton.

So far in the 2024/25 season, the 22-year-old has contributed to 12 goals in 22 Premier League appearances (6G+6A) and has been a bright spark in a particularly dim Manchester United team.

Since scoring his hat-trick against Southampton, Amad Diallo’s form has dwindled drastically, failing to score or assist in six consecutive matches across all competitions.

Amad commented on his injury, saying: “I’m extremely disappointed to be writing this message. Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury.

“I will come back stronger than ever! Time to the boys from the outside. Still loads to play for”.

However, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony leaving the club on loan, this does leave United in sticky situation when selecting their attacking line.

Joshua Zirkzee, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho have failed to meet expectations this season and have left United with just 28 goals in 24 league matches.

In contrast, their opponents on Sunday have scored 48 goals despite sitting two points behind Manchester United going into the match.

Amad Diallo is not the only new absentee for United, as Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are also set to miss the trip to north London.

This is on top of the loss of Lisandro Martinez, who suffered an ACL injury during Manchester United’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last time out.

These new injury concerns are a huge issue for the Red Devils, however, they will not receive any sympathy from Spurs as the Lilywhites are in a major injury crisis.

Dominic Solanke, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson will all miss the match on Sunday – however Guglielmo Vicario should return after almost a four month absence.
