The top flight of English football, the Premier League, has never had a shortage of world-class forwards. Some have scored for fun while others have wowed onlookers with their ingenuity, their ability to create extraordinary goalscoring opportunities. But only a rare breed has mastered both, turning matches time and again with their ambidexterity in front of goal.
In the list below, we will rank the most impactful active Premier League stars who can score and assist like nobody’s business. Below are the current Premier League players who have scored at least 50 goals and provided 50 assists in the division.
#8 Ashley Young (Everton)
One of the longest-serving players in the Premier League, Ashley Young has scored 50 goals and claimed 74 assists in the league since making his debut with Watford in the 2006-07 season. The 39-year-old defender has played 478 games in the premier division of English football.
Young represented Aston Villa (two spells) and Manchester United before ing Everton at the start of the 2023-24 season. The majority of his Premier League games came for the Red Devils. Playing 192 games, Young scored 15 goals, winning three Player of the Month awards and the title in the 2012-13 season.
#7 Christian Eriksen (Manchester United)
Manchester United star Christian Eriksen has scored some magnificent goals and provided jaw-dropping assists over the years. The former Tottenham Hotspur star has featured in 303 Premier League games across three clubs, scoring 54 goals and providing 77 assists.
Eriksen, 33, might be on borrowed time at Old Trafford, but his legacy in the English top flight will live on. Until his unfortunate cardiac arrest during a Euro 2020 match, Eriksen was one of the best playmakers in the league. The Danish midfielder was one of Tottenham’s finest. Leading up to his career break, Eriksen played 226 league games for the club, scoring 51 goals and claiming 65 assists.
He also produced some excellent performances for Brentford after returning to action, deservedly earning a move to Man Utd.
#6 James Milner (Brighton)
The forever-young James Milner has played a whopping 637 Premier League matches across Leeds United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Liverpool, and now Brighton. The 39-year-old has found the back of the net 55 times and claimed 89 assists.
Milner, who has played three leagues this season, won the title with both Manchester City and Liverpool. Between 2010-11 and 2014-15 seasons, Milner played 147 league matches for the Cityzens, scoring 13 goals and winning the title two times (2011-12, 2013-14). In the summer of 2015, Milner moved to Liverpool, and five years later, won the championship with the Reds. Before closing his Liverpool chapter, Milner played 230 Premier League games, scoring 19 times and claiming 27 assists.
#5 Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is the latest name to the Premier League’s exclusive 50+ goals & assists club. The Portugal international has scored 64 goals and claimed 50 assists since moving to Old Trafford in January 2019. Fernandes entered the list of elites on the back of a stellar display against Leicester City. Leading from the front, Fernandes scored one goal and provided two assists as Man Utd claimed a 3-0 victory over the Foxes on March 16.
The 30-year-old playmaker has faced his fair share of criticism since ing Manchester United, with many questioning his leadership skills. But when push comes to shove, Fernandes is almost always the player to make the difference.
The No. 8 has arguably been the only bright spot of Man Utd’s disastrous 2024-25 Premier League campaign. The former Sporting star has played 28 games, recording eight goals and nine assists.
#4 Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
One of the best playmakers of the 21st century, Manchester City maestro Kevin De Bruyne has long been a member of the Premier League’s 50 goals and 50 assists club. The Belgian has played 280 games in the Premier League, scoring 70 goals and chipping in with an irable 118 assists. De Bruyne began his journey with Chelsea, but all of his exploits have been for his current employers.
De Bruyne is the most decorated player on this list. Not only is he a six-time Premier League champion, but he has also won the two most esteemed individual awards in his domain. De Bruyne, who sees his Man City deal expire at the end of the current campaign, has won two Player of the Season awards (2019-20, 2021-22). Additionally, De Bruyne is a three-time winner of the Playmaker Award (2017-18, 2019-2020, 2022-23), which recognizes the player with the most assists over the course of a PL campaign.
Had it not been for injuries, De Bruyne would have sured Ryan Giggs (162 assists) by now.
#3 Raheem Sterling (Arsenal)
Raheem Sterling has been one of the mainstays of English football over the last 14 years. Over the course of the rollercoaster of a ride, the Arsenal (on loan from Chelsea) left-winger has cemented his place as one of the coveted of the Premier League’s 50 goals and 50 assists club.
The Englishman has been in Premier League action 391 times across Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal since his debut in the 2011-12 campaign. Sterling has found the netting 123 times and provided 64 assists.
Sterling has played for four of the six biggest teams in the English top flight. While his spells with Chelsea and Arsenal have been mediocre at best, he played some scintillating football at Liverpool and Manchester City. During his seven-year stay at the Etihad Stadium, Sterling scored 91 goals and provided 41 assists in 225 Premier League games, winning the title four times.
#2 Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)
Tottenham Hotspur legend Son Heung-min also has more than 50 goals and 50 assists in the Premier League. The South Korean star, who has become Spurs’ talisman following Harry Kane’s departure, has scored 127 goals and claimed 71 assists in 329 league matches.
Son has helped Spurs to some crucial wins since ing them at the start of the 2015-16 season, but they have ultimately been in vain, as he is still awaiting his first trophy win with the Lilywhites.
Coming to individual accolades, Son has quite a few to his name. He is a four-time Player of the Month, has claimed two Goal of the Month awards, and saw his strike win the Goal of the Season accolade in 2019-20. The best of the lot came at the end of the 2021-22 season, as he won the Golden Boot (23 goals) alongside Mohamed Salah.
#1 Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
At the top of the hill sits ‘Egyptian King’ Mohamed Salah, having scored 184 times and claimed 86 assists in 292 Premier League games. It has been a sensational turnaround for the Liverpool star, who, like Kevin De Bruyne, also failed to make it at Chelsea.
After proving his mettle at AS Roma, Salah ed Liverpool in the summer of 2017. He exceeded expectations in his debut season, scoring a then-record 32 goals in 36 league games, and claiming the Golden Boot. His heroics also gave him his first and only Player of the Season award. Salah has since added two more Golden Boots (2018-19, 2021-22) and one Playmaker award (2021-22) to his collection.
His finest moment in a Liverpool shirt came in 2019-20, as the Merseysiders ended their 30-year wait for the top-flight title. The Reds are marching towards another Premier League title this term and Salah is once again at the heart of it, popping up a league-best tally of 27 goals and 17 assists in 29 games.
