Team Penske, formerly known as Penske Racing, is a professional racing organization that competes in the IndyCar Series, NASCAR Cup Series, and FIA World Endurance Championship. Throughout its history, which dates back to 1966, it has also competed in other series, including Formula One.
Team Penske is part of Penske Corporation, is owned and chaired by Roger Penske, and is represented by Tim Cindric as the team president.
Successful throughout its history, Team Penske has racked up 39 drivers’ championships, including five in IndyCar and two apiece on the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series. It has 18 victories at the Indy 500 and over 100 across the Cup Series.
Notable drivers under the Penske umbrella include Ryan Blaney, Kurt Busch, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman, and Rusty Wallace, among many others.
NASCAR Cup Series driver Joey Logano meant for the sarcasm to come through loud and clear: “Way to go, Austin. Way to go, you (&!^%)!” Logano wasn’t congratulating the eventual winner of Sunday’s Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The reigning circuit titleholder sounded off on his team radio following the second stage. Cindric did […]
Six races into the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, it’s fair to say that some degree of parity exists. After all, in those first half-dozen events, all three manufacturers — Chevrolet, Toyota and Ford — have been to Victory Lane. Also, the Wood Brothers’ Josh Berry scored his first career victory, and no one driver […]
Over the course of 75 years, Wood Brothers Racing has experienced all of the ups and downs that professional motorsports can offer. Over the last few decades, though, the fabled organization founded by the late NASCAR legend Glen Wood has floundered a lot more than it has flourished. But the arrival of Josh Berry as […]
NASCAR Cup Series driver William Byron may have captured the pole position for Sunday’s Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway, but could have lost a friend in the process. “I don’t like William Byron anymore,” Joey Logano said with a laugh, as reported by NASCAR.com. “Man, that stinks. I just got through telling (crew […]
Wednesday was a busy news day around the NASCAR industry. First, the sanctioning body handed down a major but relatively mild penalty to Team Penske driver Austin Cindric. Later, Chase Briscoe and Joe Gibbs Racing saw their penalty from Daytona taken back. Coincidentally, as seen in the photo above, Briscoe and Cindric shared the front […]
Before the green flag waves on this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, Austin Cindric wanted to get on the same page with fellow driver Kyle Larson. The two collided while racing for the lead in the final laps of last Sunday’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with […]
The lone NASCAR Xfinity Series driver to open the campaign with back-to-back Top-10 finishes, Harrison Burton continues shaking off his unsteady three-year run on the Cup circuit. So far, so good. “I’m really motivated,” Burton told NASCAR.com “I know that I can do it; I know I can be a Cup driver,” Burton said. “That’s […]
Team Penske expects to win at drafting facilities like Atlanta Motor Speedway. For 11 straight seasons, the Mooresville, N.C.-based organization has captured at least one race at drafting tracks. Owner Roger Penske told reporters that Sunday’s Ambetter Health 400 was a missed opportunity as Austin Cindric experienced a late accident caused by an apologetic Kyle […]
When the green flag waves on Sunday’s Daytona 500, Joey Logano will be the only NASCAR Cup Series champion in the field with a Daytona 500 victory. Remarkably, the other five — and possibly six — champions will all be chasing their first Harley J. Earl Trophy. Before the engines fire in Central Florida to […]
No matter how you slice it, Sunday night’s Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium was a major success for NASCAR. Not only did fans pack the stands and the sport’s most popular driver score a popular win, but the participants got to sleep in their own beds — which rarely happens over the lengthy […]
